Who's Your Daddy is an enjoyable little movie. The posters that rated the movie with poor ratings were probably motivated to do so because they were probably expecting the majority of the movie to contain a lot of gratuitous nudity, which it did not. Instead the movie has a well constructed plot that is easy to follow and just as enjoyable. However, regardless of the movie being shot on an independent budget, it still contains a lot of nice acting and surprises. Both William Atherton and Wayne Newton do great jobs with their small roles. Kadeem Hardison also has a nice role in the movie. The final 15 minutes of the movie is also especially very satisfying and ties the entire movie together very nicely. It's unfortunate that more people didn't enjoy this movie, but still great that those of us who did like it can let others know how good this movie is, so don't be fooled by the negative reviews. This movie reminds me slightly of the American Pie franchise and I highly recommend it! It also has a touch of Kevin Smith style comedy in it as well. Highly recommended and appreciated. Enjoy!!!
... View MoreWHO'S YOUR DADDY? is a predictably fun movie that is worth a look. I didn't know anything about this movie until I watched it on Showtime a couple of days ago.Anyway, the story goes like this: Chris Hughes is the average high school loser. His group of friends are the out casts of the school. This one girl, Kate, likes him but he is obsessed with Brittany, the high school hottie. Of course, with his loser status, she will have nothing to do with him. That is until his real parents die (he was adopted) and leave him Mack Enterprises, which owns Heaven Magazine. Soon, he is rich and instant popularity follows. Now Brittany wants everything to do with him (if only to jump start her career) and he wants nothing to do with anybody else. Seems his scheming Uncle Dunky wants him to fail so he gains ownership of Mack Enterprises. Chris doesn't want to do the job he inherited so this comes quickly. Chris soon loses the people who care about him most, even his friend Adam (Charlie Talbert from the wonderful 'ANGUS'), the stereotypical fat, high school student.I will stop there and say give this movie a go. The best scenes involve the very funny Colleen Camp as Chris's adoptive mother, especially the scene in the Chinese restaurant, the funniest part in the entire movie.
... View MoreWhen a comedy movie boasts its marvelous soundtrack on the back cover you know your not dealing with a top notch movie. I rented this movie with friends expecting to get some chuckles but overall to get most of our laughs off each other making fun of the movie. We couldn't have chosen a worse movie. The movie may have been alright with a few changes. First off, the comedy was painful. Physical gags were poorly performed and placed. The fat kid in the movie made us want to kill ourselves, bless him for trying scene in and scene out but he was like a puppy begging for love. If he had been pulled from the movie everything might have been bearable. There were some funny jokes, I believe one was when the group of boys steal one of the parent's porn movies and it turns out to be gay porn. But to best sum up the comedy I will simply tell the opening gag for the fat kid. He wears a puke stained shirt and talks about not knowing when something is done.To finish off, the editor of the movie could have saved the movie by removing the fat kid, cutting out 20 minutes of the school scenes and making an ending that is longer than thirty seconds of random bickering.OH, BTW, there are two good elements that the movie possesses. Kadeem Hardison plays his role wonderfully and performs his jokes so that none are missed or under-appreciated. The other redeeming element to the movie is the beautiful Mrs. Ali Landry. Her character is ignored most of the movie which is a shame.Don't waste your time even renting this one. It didn't appeal to me and I was part of the target audience (18 male).
... View MoreThis movie is a cross between "American Pie" and "She is all that". Regrettably movie's director never decided which way he was going to go. So "Daddy" wobbled between over the top comedy and serious issues. That was negative side. On the positive side, "Daddy" has plenty of funny jokes and amazing performances. Christine Lakin was just unbelievable in her role as dorky lovesick girl. If you want to compare, try to remember Cameron Diaz in "There's Something About Mary". Yes, it was that on the money!! Marne Patterson made the best slutty cheerleader I have ever seen. Young actors were also good. Highly recommend to see. You will not be bored
