This tightly-written, brilliantly acted, dark, and poignant series is one I will not soon forget. I just finished all three seasons. Anyone who had childhood experiences that changed your life's path will appreciate and become wholly lost in this exploration of 'the butterfly effect.' One act impacts the next and ever after. To Ben Mendelsohn, you are every bit the actor Deniro is. Your portrayal of Danny was nothing short of perfect and most likely more real than the writers ever envisioned. Deeply human. To the rest of the cast, I applaud you and your performances that brought each character such life that the viewer could almost predict how a character would respond in any given situation. I'm not saying the show was predictable; rather, your performances revealed the essence of each character in both nuanced and hard-hitting scenes. Thank you.

I was immediately hooked & was amazed how the show moved from the appearance of a perfect family to what they really were. However, I still want more. Will they ever come back? I was thoroughly entertained, & so was my daughter. Thank you!

The first 2 seasons would have scored a solid 8/10, however I would honestly rate the final season as a 1 or 2/10 it was that bad. Still, I enjoyed the first 2 seasons so much that I have only knocked it down to a 7/10 overall.I found the first 2 seasons had me hooked and it got the viewer thinking about who was really the worse person out of Danny and John. Danny didn't end up a nice person but he was let down badly by his family. Whereas John was the rock of the whole family yet betrayed his brother when he needed him to stick up for him and often used his power as a Detective to get what he wanted.Thought the acting was brilliant for the most part too. After watching the first 2 seasons though, the thing that keeps the viewer intrigued is how the inevitable downfall of the Rayburn family will unfold. And yet they just completely let the fans down as well as the actors with their terrible final season. It picked up for one episode around ep 6 and then deteriorated from there with the final 2 episodes really killing the show in my opinion.Spoiler ahead...I think it would have been a better idea to have had Kevin decide 'he wanted out' and tell Roy that he wasn't prepared to go along with the deal with the Cubans instead of Roy ending up in Hospital. At that point Roy could have used his leverage on John/Kevin with having got his hands on the recorded tape from Danny and give Kevin no choice but to carry on working for him. Kevin could have gone out with the Cubans and ended up getting killed when the exchange went wrong. At this point Belle would no longer have cared about Kevin's secret with the Diaz murder and would have wanted to get revenge on Roy, as well as John. Belle contacts the Diaz family and maybe Chelsea O'Bannon and they work together to bring down the Rayburns. After Kevin's death maybe Sally could even own up to everything as she would have suffered another loss and had more hate for John. Regardless, the way it ended just left so many storylines unanswered and neglected and in the final few episodes so many good characters were taken out of the picture which was really disappointing.
