Ok so now I know why I never watched this until now. So many flaws in this show but I was bored and wanting something to zone out with so watched the whole series on Netflix . I rally must have been bored there are parts that are ok and if you have nothing better to watch it's watchable

This show is a kingdom of stereotypes. Black people deal in drugs, dead father was an angel, kids are nice but misunderstood, rich housewives are snobbish, young men are sexual perverts. All of this would have been fine if done properly but it is incredibly boring. Another stereotype: Christians are idiots and the family in the center of the series is Jewish and very cool for that reason. Please see that I am not even Christian but this subtle way of mocking one religion whilst promoting the other has become a norm in American TV, don't you think? Acting is the worst in this show - or dialogue, I can't say. Story line like I said has nothing new to offer. The sorry attempt at comedy is laughable but in a very different way than the show intends. I could not bear more than one season. DO NOT WATCH IT, IT IS HORRIBLE.

I had a back injury a few years ago and decided to binge watch "Weeds" I really shot right thru the first 3 seasons, but the longer I watched the more and more "Nancy Botwin" got on my last nerve. I do understand this is a comedy..but it just wasn't that funny. While Mary Louise Parker is a cute woman, they should have picked someone a little less white trash to play a woman every character on the show was gonna have or want to have sex with..to include the episode where even her own sons did! (One had fun nightly with his mom's picture and the other replaced mom by having sex with a woman the same age as his mother. It was just not believable that a huge drug pin/Mayor of Mexico would give up everything for this spoiled white trash like character. All this being said ,Celia stole the show in the beginning and I loved her character, until again the writers had her in love with Nancy and morphing into Nancy. This show should have ended after season three when it left the roots behind and moved to the beach. I know it's only a show but Nancy felt so sorry for herself while stepping on everyone to get whatever she wanted that it made me dislike the character and show more and more!

Well, I've just watched the first episode: I hated it. No problem with the pot selling Mary Louise Parkers character is selling, I assume it's to supplement her income. Its the language and situations that bother me. I can't imagine a parent, in real life, would want their kid in a TV series or a movie where they are part of the discussion of sex and the language discussing the sex. Oh, the money, even worse. Parkers character catches her son and girlfriend in bed and uses the F word to describe what they're up to! And Elizabeth Perkins uses the C word referring to her daughter. I am not a prude, I watch Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones, gratuitous sex and nudity galore but there are no child actors dragged into the action. I will not be watching another episode. And people wonder what's wrong with our society, our youth, just watch TV.
