WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERSI was encouraged to watch One Tree Hill by a friend who said it was one of her favourite series ever. However, Prison Break has always been my favourite and I felt nothing would ever live up to that, also knowing One Tree Hill would be dramatically different to the story line of PB, I didn't think I would be overly crazy about OTH. I started season 1 and wasn't obsessed, but liked it enough to continue. It's quite centred around basketball to begin with but it does eventually move away from that, whilst keeping it a somewhat prominent feature throughout the whole show. The first 4 seasons are very high school based. It follows a group of high school students who are nearing graduation: Lucas, Nathan, Peyton, Brooke, Haley, and then others including Mouth, Skills and Rachel. However, on the side, there is a whole other plot line of family history and drama which I won't go too much into.OTH is an incredible series which I've seen many reviews label it as a 'teen series'. But I have to disagree. Despite the first 4 seasons being set in high school, it deals with more mature topics such as: teen pregnancy, suicide, murder, single parenthood, school shootings, gun violence, family loss, family breakdowns and divorce. Season 5 makes a jump in time, so that the actors are actually acting their age (mid 20s) rather than being teenagers. This new concept created more mature themes including: adult marriage, struggles to conceive, violence and attacks, kidnapping, problematic health issues, loss of loved ones, adoption etc. To put it simply, I cannot recommend this show enough. I finished it in 9 weeks/2 months and I already can't wait to watch it again (I think I should hold off for a few months though lol).I personally was not disappointed with who the characters ended up with, despite having those feelings during the show, my mind was soon changed when someone better came along. And the lovely thing about the show is, when it's over, and you feel sad and don't know what to do with yourself, if you're like me and choose to watch every interview on Youtube and stalk all the characters Instagram accounts, you'll be very happy to see most characters are still friends and meet up regularly. P.S. I can confirm that Prison Break and One Tree Hill both hold 1st place for my favourite TV series ever.

Disappointed that at the end no appearance by Peyton & Lucas. There love story was the best one to fallow in this show. With no Peyton or Lucas love story the has to bring in more actors to finish the show. If they could keep the original actors till the end the should of dropped the show sooner then they did. Peyton & Lucas was in the original spot light of the show but they ended them to fast for there fans of there love story. I was Disappointed in the end of the show.

The series, One Tree Hill, is based on the eventful lives of several teenagers in Tree Hill, North Carolina. The high school basketball team, the Ravens, coached by Whitey Durham (Barry Corbin), is the pride and joy of the school and community. The talented players are two brothers, Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), the star, who was molded by his dad, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), but neglected by his mother Deb Scott (Barbara Alyn Woods), an alcoholic. Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) was abandoned at birth with his mother, Karen Roe (Moira Kelly), who grew up with Dan's older but poor brother Keith as a substitute father. Incident forces the coach to replace suspended players, and Lucas soon proves himself. After a while he gets accepted and develops a dynamic. Of course the teenage boys have friends, and especially a confusing series of love affairs with musical talent Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton) and Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Lenz), also a tutor, as well as Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) a popular cheerleader. When I watched the pilot of One Tree Hill, I knew I was going to be hooked. There were some episodes that were not as good as others, but overall the series was very enjoyable. The conflict that occurs throughout the series is the main reason I enjoyed the TV show. There was never a time where I got bored watching the series, because it was so believable and relevant to my life. Overall, the first impression was very good and I continued to watch the show until the very last episode. The story-line of the series One Tree Hill flowed well from start to finish. There was almost never a time where I did not want to continue to watch the series. The producers did a very nice job of keeping the viewers on their toes at all times. The show is based on high school conflicts, but the adults are aired on the show just as much as the teens. This allows the viewers to gain connection with all the characters, not just the teenagers. I felt that the characters filled their roles well. They were all believable teenage kids and adults. Brooke, Haley, and Peyton were all beautiful girls in the show, and they filled the role of high school girls very well. Also, Lucas and Nathan filled the role of two, high school, star athletes very well. The adults in the TV series add a lot of intelligence to the show. Dan Scott and Karen Roe both give a great performance of a struggling mother and a mean father. Coach Whitey does an excellent job filling the role of the high school basketball coach. Overall, the characters did an nice job of turning a fiction show into a believable real-world series. One Tree Hill could be viewed as one of the most underrated shows on television. Most people compare this show to a similar television show, the O.C. One Tree hill has some human like quality that makes the show seem relevant to many people's lives. Even though it does not have the fan base popularity that other teenage shows have, it still has a very loyal set of viewers. One Tree Hill is a great show for teenagers, as well as adults. I would recommend this show for high school students and adults; not middle school students. If you are looking for a show that deals with real-life issues, this is a great show to watch. Score: 9/10

This series really gets to you emotionally i must admit. It is based on the lives of half brothers Nathan and Lucas Scott. When they first become apart of each others lives jealousy, rivalry, desperation and hatred is shown. Nathan has always been the spoilt dis-obedient child who got everything he wanted, he was immature and it wasn't until Hayley James - Lucas' best friend that he became more compassionate about the way he treated everyone. Lucas was the mature brother who felt abandoned by his father, he was very fortunate for everything he had even if it wasn't perfect. As the seasons go on the characters develop a great chemistry and relationship. It presents them with their future roles as husbands/wives, mothers/fathers and their working lives
