I'm going to start by saying what drove me to watch this series. I thought the concept of a new cast every two seasons a very interesting idea, which it definitely was. What they didn't manage though, was to make all the generations equally good. I also needed a slightly stupid, but also fun and easy to watch teen drama, which this was. It's not one of them series where you don't get anything about it and it's dull, it actually was fun and I enjoyed watching it. (Surprisingly, I'm actually considering rewatching the first season, something which I don't really do.)The first generation was the best. It was realistic, relatable and it actually resembled not too rebellious teen's lives. The first season introductory and the secong one was a bit more dramatic and darker, something which I wasn't too excited about, but it actually turned out to be quite good.The second generation wasn't as good as the first one. I feel like the characters weren't thought out properly. It just was wrong in so many ways. The third season was okay, not as good as I expected it to be after watching the first generation, but still not too bad. The fourth season was way too melodramatic, including suicides and murders. I was also a bit gutted about another character dying. I didn't watch the third generation and I don't plan on doing it. I read a lot of reviews and most of them advised against watching it or just watching the fith season. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I'm going to write an update if I watch it.Overall, I'd say: give it a shot. It's not too bad, just not fully my taste, I guess. But I didn't give it eight stars for nothing, did I?

Skins is one of the best shows I have ever watched. It is raw, honest and emotional beyond words. It consists of three different generations/slightly different casts with two seasons per generation. And finally it is a seventh season that picks up some of the previous characters to give them a proper send off into adult life.Generation 1 (Season 1 and 2) is the main one people love. It is the original that made people fall in love with Skins in the first place. It is amazingly well made and it will always be a classic. This generation tends to be most peoples favourite. I think especially Cassie and Chris are some really interesting characters you will fall in love with. The ending left a lot unanswered though, and that made me a bit disappointed.Generation 2 (Season 3 and 4) is also a lot of peoples favourite, and that has a lot to do with Freddie/Effy and the character of Cook. It is a lot darker than the first generation, and it seems to contain a lot more drugs. And a bit raunchier I would say. But I still loved it. The ending of this one was a double edged sword. Because even though the last scene was iconic and JUST GOLD, it was still SO MUCH stuff left unanswered, and that made me even more frustrated than the mysterious ending of the first generation.Generation 3 (Season 5 and 6) was different from the previous generations. A lot of people didn't like this generation, but honestly I loved that one too. It is more positive in some sorts. It had some really heartbreaking stories, yet some really lovely moments. And this ending nailed it. A good ending that made me feel content, and happy I actually watched all generations. And yeah, this ending made me cry like a baby. But- with a smile on my face.I would give 10/10 for both generation 1 and 2, a 8/10 for generation 3, and a 8/10 for season 7 with previous characters.Seriously, watch all generations. It will give you such a sense of the entire show, and once you reach that final scene in season 6 you will be so glad you watched it all the way through. The generations were all perfect and unique in their own way, and I couldn't say "watch this/that generation and forget the rest", because they complete each other, and I love them all so much. <3

Hello I'm a big fan from the USA! I like this show because it's unlike any teen show out there in the U.S. It is funny, relatable, and has an original story-line. It reminds me of a Sophia Coppola movie, but it is a cable show. You guys introduced me to this show as the USA version of SKINS, but unlike the Office, USA SKINS was pulled after one season, so unfair! Why don't you remake it again for USA cable on a different network-I'd love to see it come to life again. Fair enough, please make a movie version based on the show! As a fan, you'd make one "Yankie" very happy! Thank you! Love your show, esp. the British version! Hugs from the U.S.

This series has to be one of the best I've ever Specially series 1-2 Those two series in my opinion were the best as you get glued to the characters in it, and as the series goes on you pick bits of details from everyone. Then, there are the drama bits, I thought those were amazing the ending of series 1 and 2 were both shocking and unexpected, and when they happen, it made me feel sad and never wanted that to happen. I would rate the first two seasons a good 10/10 But then I feel they went with the wrong choice, I think they should have stuck with original cast, as people knew them. I watched the rest of the episodes anyway but felt sadden when i found out that, that was it. In away I almost feel as if the second seasons should have been the last and should have had more episodes with the first cast instead of them moving. So I'm not going to rate this for series 3-6, just series 1-2 as I think they were the best, and if they did stick with that I thought it could have been a lot better.
