Gossip Girl is an American teen drama television series. Narrated by the omniscient blogger « Gossip Girl », the series revolves around the frictional lives of privileged upper-class adolescents living in Manhattan's Upper East Side.In the first place, when I heard about this series, I didn't want to watch it, not even try. But last year when I was chilling on Netflix, wondering what I could watch, I just seen the picture of a blond and a brown girl and I said « why not, let's try! ». And I didn't think I would like it at first, but god I was wrong! I've seen this show again and again (6 seasons), this is genius! I was sad that Desperate Housewives has finished but I found this new show with news girls, news stories and intrigues. I really wish theses shows would never ended! The series begins with the return of Upper East Side teenage "it" girl Serena van der Woodsen from a "mysterious absence". Gossip Girl reveals that Serena has been away at boarding but not everyone welcomes Serena back to Manhattan with open arms. Blair Waldorf, whom creators describe as being the queen bee of Constance Saint Jude, she also happens to be the childhood "best friend" and occasional rival of Serena van der Woodsen. The story also follows scholarship student and aspiring writer Dan Humphrey who lives in Brooklyn and is a self-described "outsider", Nate Archibald, the so-called "golden boy", who was Blair's childhood sweetheart and first love, and Chuck Bass, the womanizing, "bad boy" who is part of "Manhattan's elite". Other characters of the turbulent Manhattan scene include Dan's childhood best friend Vanessa Abrams ; Jenny Humphrey : Dan's rebellious adolescent sister; Lily van der Woodsen, Serena's mother, Rufus Humphrey, former Lily's former lover and Dan and Jenny's father. I got so hooked with this show, it has so many twists and turns, you can try to guess what will happen next, but you'll never know! And it makes you so addictive with theses amazing stories, dramas. And obviously, the cast is gorgeous! In one moment you can hate one character because of something (Chuck at the very beginning of the series, when he was a dumb ass womanizer) and in the other moment that one is great (when he fell in love with Blair). Ed Westwick (Chuck) plays so well and makes the character very attractive. Plus: the setting: NY, Manhattan, Upper East Side and Central Park. So many details that make you want to jump in an airplane to JFK right away! Even if I've already watched the entire show and know what's gonna happen, I can't help to watch it over and over again. It's probably written for young people, but that doesn't mean adults can't watch it. It's funny, clever, exciting, addicting and you fall in love with the rich upper class life. I really recommend it, 9/10 because I resent the producers for finishing the show so early haha
... View MoreI liked the show much more in the beginning, or for the first few seasons. then it seemed they were just keep producing due to take profits off the popularity to revenue not so much because the plot itself compelled them to move on. in later seasons things start repeat. unlikely stuff happens seemingly only because it was not there yet and they need content to fill episoded. some of the later episodes really were a pain to watch. i especially did not like the way they were working towards the finale and the rather awkward "happy end".

View MoreIs absolutely gorgeous, all the glamour, the fashion events, the characters and their relationships, the love stories, the twisted intense and messed up one between Blair and Chuck and Serena's life style, you just can not get enough of it. First I used to watch this series a few years ago, when myself I went to some similar relationship, a twisted, dark, intensive and unhealthy love with someone who I identified him as Chuck Bass, so I did identify so much in this great love between Blair and Chuck. I did not watch until the end the show, I think it was too painful for me to watch it at that time. Recently I started to watch it again, episode after episode, season after season, so in a couple of days I watch it until season 5, at the half of it. I really like Blake Lively, she is such a gorgeous actress, but maybe she is not really about her this series, is about the relationship about Blair and Chuck, they are getting all the stages of any relationships: friends, secretly partners standing by each others' side, lovers, enemies... and the show has no end until they finally are for real back together, they have the longest and deepest relationship, not Serena with Dan, or Serena with Dan. Shame that Blake Lively did not have such a love story.
... View MoreI really liked the show, even though it is a typical teenage-girl kinda show which i'm normally pretty critical about. I am now halfway watching it for the third time and i'm still not bored. I think the casting was perfect, and i will always remember Blake lively and Leighton Meester as Serena and Blair (I love them, they're also great actresses in other movies, i know!). Even though the most of the viewers probably cant relate to the high- class upper east side life, it's wonderful to just escape in this world that stand so far away from your own. I still cant imagine people living like this. I know, the show isn't perfect and after a while a little predictable at some times (some times it is even really really surprising) and some might find it a bit lengthy, but i really would recommend it to everyone (or at least every girl)
