I stump upon this movie last night when searching for a good horror movie to watch and soon when it over i rush into the IMDb page to write a review about it.This is my review about The Signal (2007) a highly underrated horror movie deserve more love and recognizable for all hardcore horror fan out there seeking to see something new.The movie involving a strange signal that been transmission through all cell phone, radio, and television turned people nearby it into psychopaths with only one intended in mind is killing people and when all hell breaks loose a couple of non related people has to figure out the way to survive this situation when they started to question why they not infected. It sometime part black comedy which some truly hilarious scene and part brutal gory action that lead you go from a somehow normal scene to all out terrifying.Minus point is the movie never explained how and why the signal been broadcast with a confusing final arc but hey this is a cult movie you either love it or hate it to death

Nothing wrong with extreme violence and gore in films, I reckon, but it's always a bit embarrassing when films like this pretend that they're oh-so-much-more than just a bunch of maniacs chopping each other up.Started off well but turned into a waste of time. The three acts / directors novelty doesn't work. It only has the effect of creating a disjointed and clumsily connected story.Comedy in horror is extremely difficult to do. The Evil Dead series got it right; George Romero got it right. This load of old toot is just boring.

Is it an original idea? No. But in this day and age how often do we see an original idea. Everything made these days is a remake or a mesh of various films or characters. Maybe I've seen to many movies. But when I watch new movies now, I can't help but trace the plot or situation back to another movie. That being said. I enjoyed watching this movie. I never questioned the characters or there motives. They had purpose, even though it was lunacy. And of course it's not your typical ending, but that's what I loved about it. Who wants to watch the same cookie cutter endings? I'm tired of the norm. This movie made an effort and I was entertained.

It's so refreshing to watch a horror film that isn't full of clichés. I don't know anything about the directors or the actors (most of them don't have profile backgrounds on IMDb) but I'm guessing the undeserved but current 6.1 rating of this film is due in part to people's expectations of the usual slasher movie with pretty girls. If you want that, don't watch this. Yes it has pretty girls, and yes there's quite a bit of slashing too, but this is incomparable to the Hollywood blockbuster clichés.Performances by all cast was solid and believable. The sense of urgency and desperation comes across really well and I was hooked from the word go. When I get a sick feeling in my stomach from the apocalyptic nightmare of a film then I know it has done its job. The Signal achieves this without effort.I also like that this was in three parts, each directed by someone different. This does not detract from the flow of the film though, it stitches together really well so credit has to go to David Bruckner, Dan Bush and Jacob Gentry.
