The Hamiltons Trailers

The Hamiltons seem to be the picture-perfect American family. They are hardworking community members; giving to their local charities, attending town hall meetings and always respectful of their neighbors...except for the fact that they usually end up killing them.

A rather mediocre score so I thought to give it a try but did I regret watching this piece of crap. There's so much talking going on and be honest you all out there, there's really nothing happening at all. There's no gore to find and when things go wrong with the captured ones there's nothing to see. each time you think, yes, this time we will see some torturing (made in the torture porn era) you are left with a bitter feeling. When we do have some red stuff it's so boring, maybe the bath scene is the best of it all but even that I would show to my 8 year old one at home. At the end the Hamiltons said it perfectly, indeed, go away to another part were we can find fresh blood, well, go and never come back, pleaaaaaase.Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 0/5 Story 1/5 Comedy 0/5

The Hamiltons are a nice, ordinary middle class family in America. Apart from the fact they like to trap people in their basement and then eat them. The film does its best to try and inject some new life into the current obsession the cinematic public has with vampires, as it tries to portray them as basically a normal family (i.e. they don't fear Peter Cushine's crucifix, throw up when you try and feed them garlic bread, or sparkle in the sunlight - like any self-respecting vampire would actually sparkle in sunlight!). Their only weakness is their blood lust. It's pretty low budget, so don't expect A-list actors staring longingly into each other's eyes, nor any amazing transformations when neighbouring werewolves steam in to save the day. It seems to be filmed on video, giving it quite a student-feel.Is it any good? A lot of people say no, but I think that's a little unfair. Because the main character looks suspiciously like a 'Cullen' I suspect that a lot of people thought this might be in some way like the Twilight films. It isn't. It's more pure horror and horror without an awful lot of gore.If you're looking for Twilight then look elsewhere. If you don't mind a low-budget, slow-burning horror flick with characters who you probably won't really care much for, then you might be able to get something out of it.http://thewrongtreemoviereviews.blogspot.co.uk/

This was one of those films I first saw when I awoke in the middle of the night and just turned the TV on. Even after seeing it I didn't know its name until a year later. Sometimes that is when you find an interesting hidden gems. This vampire movie is more of a drama. It had its blood and gut parts, and the seductive erotic part as well, but this is no fantasy Twilight, Interview with a Vampire tween I wish I could date a vampire crap that is usually pushed on us.It was well acted by the entire cast. I honestly wouldn't even call it a monster/vampire/horror movie. It's more of a drama about twisted family dysfunction. It is really a slow movie and that is really my only real criticism but it's worth watching. If you really want to know what vampires would probably be like if they really existed...Try this one

User Caustic Pulp did a good review; here's my version. The less you know going into it the better it'll be. Four siblings try to restart their lives in a new town after the untimely death of their parents should be sufficient synopsis. The film reveals a bit too much of its hand from the beginning. The tension and intriguing characters would have benefited from a more minimalist approach to the creep factor. I could have done without the first minute and half or so of pre-credit footage (beginning the film directly with the VO and home movie) as well as the somewhat cheesy 'creature' sound effects (they're a bit of a spoiler); I would have rather seen this unfold as a particularly unsettling and edgy family drama (until the last act). As a result, the clever twist is at once over and underplayed, coming off as a gimmick. This said, the idea is original, the camera is excellently handled and the performances are solid from a cast of relative unknowns. It will be intriguing to see how the sequel works out, I'll certainly see it.
