The moment I realized this was a bad choice was when the 2 leads have a long conversation about going to Costco to buy a damn cactus. And this is in the first 10 minutes... It was the strangest, most cringe worthy product placement I've ever seen. The rest of the movie is nothing but attractive 20 somethings acting dumb and completely unnatural. Plus it is only PG-13, so don't expect much for gore or nudity. Pretty much a fail on all fronts, avoid at all costs.

Not a great movie if you are watching it expecting to get scared. This has really no horror factor. The beginning starts out interesting and then it gets hokey. I mainly watched it due to Sebastian Stan being in it and I like watching him, but man, he could have done a better film. That's okay, he's shirtless enough so it makes up for it.Ashley Greene, sorry Twilight fans, is not a great actress. Shes very pretty so I figure that's why shes in this movie. They are an attractive couple and it's a good thing they are, if they weren't, I'm afraid I would have turned it off way before I finished. I like the premise of the movie, interesting concept, but the special effects could have been much better. IMDb is making me write at least 10 lines so now I am just filling up space because honestly, I can't say anything else about this movie.

Don't know why some people didn't appreciate this film. The action, spooky effects, begin early and keep up right to the end - and do not miss the graphics at the end with the credits either. The film is like Paranormal Witness on steroids. And the weird post-industrial landscape with pylons and desert where the film is mainly set in just adds to the atmosphere. Definitely one to watch, especially in a dark room with just the telly on. What happens to the house, even the furniture, is just amazing. You've really got to watch what happens to the stair banisters and that sideboard towards the end, and before that the guy on the ceiling, well that was really tense too. And the bit where the camera is dragged towards the tent in the garden. Also when this woman ends up in a deserted DIY type store but there's just something not quite right about how the store looks, apart from being weirdly closed yet she got in there somehow. Any way as said above this film is just one scare after another and must be seen.

What a diabolical waste of time. I should've known better really, I didn't like Tom Felton in any of the Potter films, and his "acting" once again failed to engage me. Same with Ashley Green, I don't understand how she gets work, she's terrible. She spent most of this film walking around like she was high, with a dopey expression. Even when her boyfriend was being harmed, she was like, "meh". I love a good ghost story, and apart from one or two slightly creepy moments, there was nothing at all scary about it. I'd even started browsing the net on my phone it was so boring. I understand the need for suspense but it can often take too long to build up, and all these two seemed to do was wander around their house in ultra slow motion. I really didn't care what happened to any of them.
