It's not that frequent to face a film that really can't let you sleep. I love horror films. Yesterday I watched Alex Aja's "Mirrors". He says that his most terrible scenes and the flick as a whole will stay with you forever and you won't be able to sleep. I slept like an angel. Today, I simply can't. I'm numbed. I'm scared. And I'm feeling terrible. Human Trafficking may be "just" a miniseries for Canadian TV. Well. This may be one of the best TV films I've ever seen. And you must try to endure it in its whole. It's difficult to watch and you may be outraged by what you'll see. It goes all the way through one of those issues "we simply ignore". A reality that may be much worse than what is depicted here. The "Modern Slavery". Be warned: it's brutal to the extreme. If you can't stand it, just scrub to the last five minutes. You'll learn the reason why this film was made and why it was made in Canada. Sometimes, the truth is the hardest to swallow. And I will say no more: watch it, please. You'll never regret it.

This movie basically attempts to make the American public think that this social problem comes from isolated, foreign criminal groups. Wrong! There are countless reports of such activities within high-ranking government officials and above. (Yes, above) Remember the Boys town cover-up? Such operations are rarely ever disrupted, because of the very fact that law enforcement agencies are themselves part of the umbrella. Perhaps children education is once again the only solution, trying to address the problem from the bottom up. This is obviously not an easy subject to discuss with children and i'm not sure how this could be done. But one thing is for sure, people shouldn't expect anything from high authorities, other than disinformation like such TV-series.

I commemorate the director for producing such a moving and eye opener of a movie! I applaud him for bringing public awareness on such an important issue that many around the world aren't aware and needs to be addressed. I strongly recommend that everyone see's this movie because it is more than a movie, it depicts the reality that human trafficking is indeed real and we need to bring this to everyone's attention to hopefully put a stop to the inhumanity that is Human Traffic. Mira Sorvena plays an amazing role, I cannot recall ever seeing her in any other movies but a brilliant performance throughout the movie. What can I say about Donald Sutherland, a master at his best and Robert Carlyle who I think plays a brilliant villain. I've actually seen Robert Carlyle play other villain rolls in other movies which he plays exceptionally well.An excellent movie, well done to all the cast and crew.

Oftentimes, with even the most terrible movies, it is easy to make a guess as to why it was made: it could be targeting a "key demographic," it could be a sentimental favorite, universal story of heroism, etc. It was impossible for me to figure out just exactly why "Human Trafficking" exists, the festering, steaming pile that it is.Mostly, it boggles the mind that this was nominated for multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards. Really? We want to award this thing? Does laughable acting, atrocious cinematography, a script seemingly penned by a 10th grader fresh off of a research paper on the topic (which would have possibly received a C), and the most embarrassingly bad "emotion" from Mira Sorvino constitute award worthiness now? I walked away feeling ashamed and humiliated for Donald Sutherland, Sorvino, and Robert Carlyle. Imagine my shock upon logging on to IMDb and finding out that THIS THING RECEIVED AWARD NOMINATIONS SOMEHOW. The cynic in me isn't too surprised, but considering this picture's extreme level of awfulness, it still shocks a little.Truly a surprise of a TV movie, and not the good kind.
