This is a fun, entertaining classic film that is sexy, hip and full of attitude. I love it. Having said that, reading the many reviews some claim this is realistic or true to the high school culture. I like to know which schools these reviewers attended. It is nothing like my high school! And I don't want them to be like one another. I watch movies for flights of fantasy not for realism (unless it is a documentary)!

This is one of the best comedies of all time and a rare moment in film history, when a comedy has all the right ingredians and everything sits just right. This film has discovered great talents and has become a cult phenomenon, with its brilliant script and acting ("boo you whore" "that is so fetch"). This movie worked because of Tina Fay's brilliant writing, and how the film does not take itself too seriously, while actually being more realistic and close to home than it should. A classic that stands the test of time, still fresh and relevant 20 years after its making!

I think almost everyone has seen this movie so I'm not gonna hold back a ton on this review. I recommend it if you haven't seen it. Mean Girls illustrates the tribal nature of an American high school. I literally mean tribal, as the main character, Cady Heron, makes said connections herself (made possible due to the fact that she came from Africa). There's some interesting character development with Cady assimilating with The Plastics and eventually replacing their queen bee, becoming what she originally tried to destroy. While this is quite an exaggerated look at what high school life is really like, it provides some insightful messages on bullying. Anyone that has been to or is in high school should be able to relate to this movie and its themes. One big problem I haven't mentioned is that not all the characters get as much interesting development as Cady and Regina. For example the main love interest, Aaron, is there to simply be a plot point. He is just used to add to the plot of Cady messing with Regina's life, making him incredibly uninteresting to watch. Mean Girls gets a big ol 6/10.

I know it looks like a dumb chick flick, but it is truly much more. No guy should have to be ashamed to say they have seen and liked Mean Girls. It's truly a movie that transcends the chick flick barrier. Girls and guys alike should be able to get a massive amount of enjoyment from watching these characters. It probably helps to be the target audience for this or to be able to relate to all the high school groups and drama. Mean Girls is the epitome of the high school experience. The movie while offering a highly comical rendition of the classic, ever-relatable, high school comedy by comparing the shared experience of the animal kingdom hierarchy in the wild to the daily life of high school students it also has a strong inspired message behind it.
