Honestly I don't know why people are complaining so much about the movie, but everyone is entitle to their opinion...And mine, is that the movie was awesome, the music, the dances, the love story, the true love kiss... everything was great. I think Uma could have been better, Harry Hook was awesome and GIl was funny, he should have had more lines, anyway.Mitchell Hope, i don't know what he has but i truly feel the love between his and Dove's characters, Mal and Ben, ever since the first one, it was pure gold. Cameron BOyce always awesome, Sophia Carson it was great, Boo Boo Stweart was great but he should have more lines also. And his relationship with Lonnie was to dry... I hope there is Third one! I really do... :)

The first one really got my hopes up for this movie, and I was enjoying all the preview clips. However, this movie really let me down. The music is incredibly standard pop music that's heavily auto-tuned. Seeing real people lip sync to it was jarring. The choreography was good, if a little predictable at times. The high point of the movie for me was the introduction of the character Uma. Her song wasn't great, but it had fierce choreography danced incredibly well by the entire ensemble. Overall, it was very standard. With a premise like this, so much could be done with the characters. Instead we had dramatic friend breakup songs that led to nothing, a horrendous talking dog, and a whole lot of nothing. Boring and not worth the watch.

The film picks up where the last on leaves off. There is no introduction of characters or any kind or recap of the events. Our teens are starting to "couple up" with Mal having second thoughts and some self-esteem issues. In this chapter Disney takes a stab at diversity. The famous evil parents are not in this movie and we have a baby Hook who was more inspired by Johnny Depp than Captain Hook. The music was more hip-hop and I didn't enjoy it as much as the original, even though the choreography was spot on.I thought the plot was a miss. They certainly could have done a better job there. It seems like this production may be nothing more than a connection type of movie with the promise of the next feature being much better. It sure did end that way. The opening made me hungry for candy apples.

In the Magic Kingdom I'm sure on the boards are plans for Descendents 3 and 4 or as many as the franchise and the contracts of the young players will allow. For myself I was having the same trouble I did with the first one, reconciling where Oredon and the Isle of the Lost were in relation to this plane of existence. In fact I keep thinking of Oredon as Oregon and maybe we all ought to move out there. The four children of villains Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson, and Cameron Boyce are settling nicely into Oredonian life, but there's a twinge of homesickness. Ready able and willing to take advantage of that twinge is Cameron's old rival Chyna Ann McLain. She gets a hold of the spell book and strange things start happening. The cast is attractive and the principal players talented both musically and dramatically. Descendents 2 is a pleasant bit of viewing.
