All right... so i'll just start out by saying that the high school musical trilogy was basically my childhood. so, am i biased? absolutely. i grew up with high school musical, watching as gabriella dominated in the academic decathlon and wanting to be just like her as a teenager, as well as admiring troy when he decided he wanted to sing AND play basketball (i myself was an athlete in my adolescent years). i can't tell you how many times i've seen these movies. i memorized the words, sang along, and obsessed over it for a long time. when i found out later that zac efron wasn't even actually singing, i didn't really care, because i still loved the songs. and so that i don't continue to venture off of my point, i've got to break it to you: i did not ever find zac efron attractive. i didn't think he was ugly, but i didn't fawn over him like everyone else, or, at least, how everyone thinks we hsm fans did. now, this is beside the point and is not exactly incriminating evidence on my point, but i did think that vanessa hudgens was quite possibly the most beautiful person i had ever seen. might that have led me to my homosexual awakening (yes, i'm a lesbian)? i don't really know. maybe. but, anyway, despite its obvious flaws (although i didn't see anything wrong with it as a child), high school musical was a great movie and does not deserve the terrible feedback it gets. lighten up, guys. it's a disney channel original movie - do you think it was intended to stir emotion in high schools and adults worldwide? no! it was a (slightly cliche) movie meant for kids who had little taste in true art. hate is not necessary.

... View MoreI'm in high school and I've never met anyone as emotionally stunted as every character in this movie. Even if someone could look past the unrealistic depiction of high school in its essence; that is: to go to SCHOOL, and report to class and not to run around with your friends and a basketball like an idiot, the characters are unforgivably one-dimensional. No one seems to understand or accept the rather simple concept of having multiple interests and hobbies, otherwise known as having a personality. And when the cast eventually does come around, it's almost out of nowhere and too soon in the story, literally not even ten minutes after the footage of Troy's dismissal of the musical is shown to Gabby do the orchestrators of this plan make a complete one-eighty in their opinions regarding the musical. This along with terribly cliché, cardboard acting and shallow songs makes this a movie someone can only watch ironically.
... View MoreThe first HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL was just incredible and that's what I am going to be reviewing. The plot, I won't explain, because you don't need to know or do you already know what the plot is about because it was really amazing and fantastic. Now, I get into the other stuff about this film. High School Musical is just incredible with every single aspect of this film and this film is just really spectacular in it's story and amazing dancing choreography. The story is really amazing and fantastic, but the film is definitely good in telling a great story. Disney Channel done a great job and it is really amazing the way they told this movie. It does really cool things and there are some scenes that I hate and I don't want to get into that. The acting is amazing in this film. Zac Elfron and Vanessa Hudgens plays the two main characters and they had good chemistry. Lucas Grabeel and Ashley Tisdale were really good as brother and sister Ryan and Sharpay Evans and fantastic in this film, but their performances were a little bit over the top.Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman plays Chad and Taylor and they do a really good job as well and they give incredible performances. The music and songs in this film are really good amazing and very fantastic and the dance choreography for the musical numbers are really amazing and spectacular and I think it really does shine out.Overall, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL gets a 7 out of 10 and the film is really amazing in everything in detail, from the acting to the music to the dancing to the story to the dialogue, this film is really amazing and it stands out as the weakest film of the trilogy to some people and for me, this is the weakest of the trilogy, but it also a stand-out of the three films.
