I can see why everyone says this is cheesy. It's from Disney Channel, after all, but it's not bad for an original story. The villains don't seem like themselves, but Ben (son of Beauty and the Beast) and Mal (daughter of Maleficent) seem earnest. There is a scene between only them, so there is no background cheesiness. The second half of Evil Like Me was horrible, but If Only, which Mal sang, was beautiful. Normally, I don't like singers like her, so that's a big compliment. Be Our Guest was a rap song and may have ruined the movie if it was at full length. As for the mistakes, I'm thinking, "When did Maleficent have a daughter? Where is her husband, or who did she partner with? Can't we have DESCENDANTS, not daughters and sons?" And why are all these people still alive? Jafar got stuck in a lamp, and Maleficent as a dragon fell off a cliff. It makes no sense, but you can ignore it. Also, the Evil Queen and Cruella are not two of the four worst villains. Cruella wants 101 dalmatians skinned to make her a coat, but Ursula has around 101 PEOPLE (or poor unfortunate souls) that she keeps in her hideout for years, torturing them. Gaston could be worse than the Evil Queen. The Evil Queen wanted Snow White killed because she was more beautiful; Gaston killed the Beast for no reason. It makes more sense to kill an animal than your niece, but the Evil Queen didn't try it herself the first time. She used a hunter. She tried to kill Snow White two times (hunter, poison apple);Gaston tried to kill the Beast three times (bow and arrow, club, and knife). His weapon is even worse and scarier in live action. In addition, Gaston killed the Beast in a more violent way. Even with all the mistakes, like the wrong "worst villains," and Be Our Guest in rap, the movie is good and worth the time to watch. I'm looking forward to Descendants 2 and hope they make Ursula's daughter, Uma, and Gaston's son, Gil, super dangerous. This is not as horrible as it seems.

Wow, what a great movie!! So, High School Musical is my favorite Disney original musicals. But this is in 3rd place. The concept and story is so cool and I love the chemistry between all the actors. Dove Cameron is so great in this and you really believe in her character as Maleficent's daughter. The songs are great and they are so fun and they are so catchy! I love this movie and I am excited for the second one.

This is a great concept, I don't know why Disney did not turn it into a theatrical film. As per the television standards, this film succeeds from all the aspects. The casting was good, but the focus was not distributed equally. May be they kept it for the sequels, in each to tell everyone's tale as the centre. So this is about the descendants of the greatest villains of Disney's fairy tales. They all got admitted to the Auradon Prep located near to their banished land. A chance to follow their own path, particularly to cut off bad influences of their parents. But would they accept the offer and make it work or there any agenda to avenge for the past are the remaining parts. It's a musical like any fairytale. But average tracks. The performances were good, even the graphics are very acceptable. So colourful and visually appealing. I think this kind of trend began with the recent success of 'Maleficent'. So you must not expect the moral values, particularly I'm saying it for the parents. Because, this is about the villains and their children, so the majority of the film leans on the negative factors. But as usual, all ends well, if you consider that a message or learning point for your children.Directed by 'Hocus Pocus' filmmaker. I was looking forward to watch it since it came out. Finally, I saw it and enjoyed it, but not the great film. The children's would love it, especially those who are familiar with the characters and its origin. Surely lot to expect, but I advise to keep your expectation low to benefit maximum. I have heard, they are already making the second film, which is due later this year. So I hope this time I watch it on the time.6/10

I watched this film with my niece because she had been dying to see it for ages. After hearing mixed reviews, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The songs are fun, the story is good and although the characters could have been slightly better, Id say overall it was worth the watch. There were a few things that kinda niggled for me though.1. Belle is meant to be all sweetness and seeing the good in people when others cant, yet as Queen she doesn't want to see good in the 'Lost Kids' (as my niece calls them) just because their parents were Villains? Felt like a character flaw to me. She didn't give them a chance to be good until the very end, when they proved they were good. So that's not really giving them a chance...its just accepting what she can see in front of her. If she hadn't given Beast a chance and seen the good in him before he fully showed that side, it would have been a very different story..2. Preppy Prince's trying to rap really didn't work for me. It kinda made me cringe anytime a rap started, it just didn't feel right for them and they didn't look right doing it. I enjoyed the songs, I just feel like they shouldn't have tried to add rap into them.3. Although I liked the songs and they were catchy enough for some of them to still be stuck in my head, I feel like they over-edited the singing too much, so it didn't look right when they were singing. It didn't look natural. Which I understand may sound stupid as its just a film, but it didn't actually look like it was them singing at some points. Kristen Chenoweth is an amazing singer, but even her singing was edited far too much for me to enjoy it as I normally would.4. Jays personality is far more like Aladin than Jaffar. I like Jay, but it didn't feel believable that he was Jaffar's son. Maybe its something about growing up on the Island and being the 'Bad Boy', I don't know. Of course this could be explained if I read the books, which I think I might have to do as I did enjoy the story. But all in all, I think this is an enjoyable film that is definitely worth a watch for a chilled day.
