When the farmer's away, all the animals play, and sing, and dance. Eventually, though, someone has to step in and run things, a responsibility that ends up going to Otis, a carefree cow.

Otis the Cow (Kevin James) is the carefree irresponsible son of Ben the cow (Sam Elliott). So while Otis danced, Ben was fighting off the coyotes from the hen house. When Ben dies fighting the coyotes, Otis must step up, but he just can't fill his father's shoes.Steve Oedekerk did not have a good day when he created this pretty boring cartoon. The animation is horrendous. I don't know if it's a style choice, but it looks extremely cheap. There's a good message in here, but it's lost in weak humor and weaker characters. The movie is missing joy. Even when they're throwing around some jokes, they never work. Otis is just not likable.

As I think that children retain quite a bit of what they see, and relate, what they see on TV/Movies, as REALITY, the "udders" on the Bulls, was the most unsettling part of the presentation. How many children NOW think that a MALE cow (bull) has udders, like a female? They should have made the Bulls with NOTHING, as with cartoon male animals, in the past.Overall, it's an enjoyable movie, and I would recommend it for children, as long as it's pointed out, to the child, that "Boy" cows are called Bulls, and do not have udders; that only the "Girl" cows have them. Our kids don't need to be more confused than they already are, about "identity".

I first saw this film on an impulse, and I was most impressed by it! I thought it combined humour and sadness well and some of the childish humour was hysterical! It had enough happening in it to keep me watching without being too exciting and action-packed. Also the fact that the male cows had udders didn't bother me in the slightest, and i thought the rest of the graphics were great too! I took it on tour with me when I went with the local rugby club, and the whole rugby team loved it and everyone (especially the 48 year old coach!) wanted to watch it again on the way home! Now that IS pretty impressive for a children's film.

How can an entire film be written, cast, animated, edited, and released without one person mentioning something like: hey, aren't all cows girls, and bulls are male? The creators of this film must be from a large city and have never visited an actual farm or barnyard. I was so creeped out by the male cows with udders that I had a very hard time watching this animated trans-gender/transsexual animal movie. I gave it a 2 for the colorful animation. My four year old daughter didn't like it either. There is just something missing in the story and you don't feel any connection or sympathy for the characters.Overall this movie is very forgettable and not entertaining, just a load of cheap gimmicks, not many laughs either
