You know this is going to be a bad movie when one of the plot keywords is 'Urination'. The only reason this isn't 1 star is that the comic book opening titles are drawn well, and this is slightly enjoyable ironically. More clichés than every other movie combined. "I want to be noticed." "I want to be less ordinary." "No one knows I exist." Horrible English dubbing. It's probably more enjoyable and understandable in Danish. This is worse than Good Burger.

I found this movie on Netflix streaming movies. Ever since I was a small boy I have enjoyed the escapism that superhero stories provide. This one is in Danish but was dubbed very well into English.Oscar Dietz is Pelle Nøhrmann, and much like Peter Parker in 'Spiderman' is small and meek and mostly overlooked by his classmates. One day he is running home from the two bully brothers when he ducks through some bushes to hide. While there he gets bit by a large ant and, much like the spider this ant has been genetically altered. Pelle falls asleep in the yard and when he finally heads home just wants to go to bed. The ant's powers have begun to alter his body and the next day finds he has super strength for his size, like an ant does, and his fuel is sugar. Along with his good friend they think up a name and come up with Antboy when he is in costume. So this movie, relatively short at just over one hour, mostly establishes Antboy and how he got his powers. In this story he has to fight the Fleaman who had kidnapped a classmate of Pelle's and eventually get him arrested and sent to jail. While I enjoyed this movie enough it is probably best for children. I plan to also see the next one, "Revenge of the Red Fury." And I see Antboy III is in post-production.

Antboy is based on a popular Danish comic book series and although I have never read the comic series, I think this movie is pretty cool. It is funny and has a small amount of action. It is really good and I think other kids would enjoy it too. This movie is about a boy named Pelle who is bitten by a rare and genetically altered ant. This ant gives Pelle superpowers. Eventually, Pelle realizes these super powers only work when he eats sugar. He finds out his real powers when he runs into a boy named Wilhelm, who later becomes his friend and helps him discover what super powers he has. Pelle decides that his super hero name is going to be Antboy. When a super villain named "The Flea" captures a girl and invades the school, Antboy has to figure out how to stop him. The main characters in the movie are Pelle, Wilhelm, Ida and the Flea. My favorite character in this movie is Wilhelm because he is a really nice guy and he is the reason Pelle decides to help people and become Antboy. He also loves comics and, while I wouldn't say I love comics, I do like them. My favorite part in the movie is when Pelle figures out his super powers. He can bite through hard things. He can climb walls. He is really strong and his pee is acid. Sadly, his super hero powers only work when he has eaten sugar. Sometimes he doesn't realize he has eaten any sugar at all. Sometimes he sleepwalks and eats all the candy in the house. I recommend this movie for ages 5 to 10 because it is really good with a lot of weird and quirky action. It is more of a movie for younger kids since teens and adults usually prefer films with more action. Reviewed by Anthony A, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic.

A children's superhero movie that offers nothing great moment for adults. Specially made movie for tween kids, definitely they gonna enjoy. For adults, it is like a spoof and kids' version of the Spiderman movie. Yeah, it was kinda inspired by the Spiderman movie so they gave right credit by mentioning it in the story. Most of the modern Danish movies I saw were very impressive. They take challenging subjects and carve into a great piece. It is a lookout film industry like South Korea. So I laid my on this movie when I saw the first teaser as I am a children movie fan. This was a good movie, but as a middle aged man this did not work for me.The kids gave their best, many were debuted with this so it's their first experience to perform in front of the camera. It's clearly visible their amateur acting skills. Only experience can teach and improve them on this field. For a maiden movie they have done a decent job except lack in facial expression in different situation of the story. The first Danish superhero movie based on the children's book. This movie was very short, runs for less than 80 minutes, so it was the reason it did not bore me. As a superhero movie, there's not enough stunts in it. Looks like they kept it low to target little kid's audience. Even the story was also familiar, only characters were derived. Overall, it can be acceptable, but not by the large margin.
