While this show is very entertaining to watch and if you grew up in 80s, extremely nostalgic, I would never in a million years consider it the 47th best show ever. Here are some amazing shows that is ranked hire than: Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Simpsons, Six Feet Under, Its Always Sunny(Just to name a few but look for yourself). I say that because it either intentionally or unintentionally still has that 80s "cheese" that was present in a lot of the music, movies and TV but I do admit if that was done intentionally it's pretty brilliant. Regardless I think when you allow the masses to dictate the rankings of TV shows you will have this happen but it definitely can be misleading to people who aren't familiar with any of those shows and expect brilliance when they start to watch it.

When I first saw the trailer for Cobra Kai I thought why have they brought this story back from the dead. I literally laughed. And I'm a big fan, especially if the first two movies as I first saw them as a young boy in the 80's and owned then on VHS for years. While the acting didn't seem to be very graceful at first, or at least not what I've been use to from many great TV shows off the last decade. I was wrong about the overall story and just how much I enjoyed it. I laughed at the humour several times throughout the first season of Cobra Kai, felt great sadness that Pat Morita (Mr Miyagi) is no longer with us, and was thoroughly entertained as the story unfolded. I felt like a young guy again watching The Karate Kid again for the first time.I know this isn't the greatest review, but as a general fan of many great TV shows this first season was a real pleasant surprise, which I highly recommend to anyone who grew up in the 80's and was a fan of the Karate Kid.

Pretty much watched this show over a single day . When I saw the trailer ... I thought "oh look they brought karate kid back as a tv show" & thought it would be a parody of itself . There are a lot of references & call backs but they feel organic & welcome & not really forced at all. Great performances from the cast & in particular Zabka who brings the most laughs & also you really root for him . The whole good vs bad guy has been flipped & thrown into a blender. Just watch this show .. didn't expect it to work but it was amazing .
