And Kanye West does so in the truest sense of the word in this 11-minute-short film. He got Spike Jonze return to shooting music videos for this one, so I was kinda curious what the outcome might be. Unfortunately, apart from the last 2 or 3 minutes, I was rather disappointed. Basically, we're watching Kanye at the club, having a a pretty rough night and neither the visuals were particularly aesthetic nor the music really good. I'm a great fan of West's Through the Wire. It's probably one of my favorite songs and music videos of the 21st century so far and I love the way he, but this one here didn't do too much for me.On a side note, this was done shortly before the notorious Taylor Swift accident. Looks like he may not have cut out the whole thing yet. One to watch for fans of West or Jonze, the rest can stay away.
... View MoreSpike Jonze and Kanye West work together on this short film that has an extremely creepy feel to it, but is also a really good flick. The film has several unfocused scenes meant to show that Kanye is drunk, which gets slightly annoying at times. Playing the main rile, Kanye did a surprisingly good job in acting, especially at the ending. The animation was spectacular, and I have been thinking about the video a lot lately. In my opinion, a good movie is one that you think about for days to come after viewing it. Much like; THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, and DONNIE DARKO. I thought about those for days. So although this movie hand an dark sense to it, it really portrayed itself well. I for one haven't seen many short films, but of the ones I have seen, this one is my favorite. If you can't handle creepy videos then don't watch this. I also would like to say that I never hand out A "10" to a movie because no movie is perfect. But as far as short films go, this one was dang good.
