This really could of been a good movie, the storyline of a group of Egyptologists and a newly discovered mysterious pyramid had quite a bit of potential. The sets and atmosphere within was spot on, the dialogue and the acting however was terrible and the killer sphynx cats truly laughable. The dialog was so weak, the acting so wooden leaving the characters with no depth at all so that when they met their individual grisly ends, you felt no loss at all.It looks like this movie had a similar if not larger budget than "The Descent", which I loved, and it just goes to show how much decent actors, script and director are key to a movies success.This was one of those B movies that was so bad I kind of enjoyed it.

Although it does have the occasional moments where it breaks that mold. Still it doesn't help. Having the brain of a ... or rather not having a brain at all, does not help the cause either. What might help, are some effects. Though the CGI in general is really dismal and the ones actually buried in a pyramid are likely to spin so much, that the protecting cloth probably falls off of them.But joking aside, this is a by the numbers affair, with your typical jump scares and your typical behavior (not very bright, even for so called intellectual people). The blonde female lead has done way better horror movies and while she is attractive enough to hold ones attention, this does not carry a movie itself ... To put it simply, I was really bored

I won't give any spoilers so I will make this simple and spot on. The movie has very good promise and tons of jump scares. That's why I gave it a 6. Plain and simple negative though. the ending is dumb with horrible graphics. Not sure if they ran out of brains and money but wow. Shocking how a movie that was on it's way to an 8 went and dropped 3 stars in the final 15 minutes of the movie. Totally worth watching though. It will cause claustrophobia and anxiety and make you jump several times before you get to the dumb ending. Shame on the directors for ruining a great movie that people would be talking about for years. What were the two writers thinking. Kudos to you for keeping me and my 20 year old daughter entertained. Hey there, Yes it is worth giving this movie a try, but how you approach it will change your enjoyment level. clearly a B grade movie but for me its a high grade B movie. The good is that they don't shake the camera to much and allow you to actually see the monster. Understanding the movie is to put up with a few flaws in the script but hey once you have seen all the block buster movies and you are poking into B territory then this is to be expected. Quality B movies often take risks and think outside the box as this one certainly did. By the end of the film I was not sure how to react! Thanks to a movie ending explanation on Google I was like wow, that's a sneaky twist all the clues in the movie were there, but I was too focused on the characters to see it. Now on my third watch and its way better with the understanding,This sets out as a story of discovery, but I would have to put in a major spoiler for it's true plot is one riddled in clues, you must watch as is or Google ending explained before watching. I hope this helps, and Pyramid team please bring on the next installment!
