A married couple purchase a rural home so they can raise their daughter in a better atmosphere. Soon thereafter, they find out that their new country dreamhouse is ruled by evil feral cats, hell bent on killing anything that moves, or doesn't move, as a pine tree gets assailed. You'll laugh often, when you aren't suppose to, but the suspense was there, thanks to highly underrated actress Kathleen Quinlan, portraying the mother.Okay for a one time viewing, especially if you want to laugh at cats killing people. Although the ringleader of the ferals was a evil looking creature, who looked as if it would rather be shooting a Friskies commercial, than pestering poor Kathleen Quinlan.Claudia Christian was the most deviant vixen in this film however, those mangy sinister felines had nothing on her.

The basic, unavoidable, fundamental problem with this TV scare flick is that cats...are...not...scary. I can understand alligators, rabid dogs, even that movie about killer slugs ("Slugs") sort of worked because the animals are either potentially dangerous or at least disgustingly vile. But unless you are of the .001 percent of the population with a cat phobia "Strays" will just strike you as ridiculous (the sight of Timothy Busfield running from a bad stuffed kitty with claws doesn't lessen the laugh ratio of this "horror" movie). The real cats in the movie don't look any different from your average house cat and the preponderance of strays in the movie's country house is more a commercial for the necessity of spay/neuter programs than striking terror in the audience's collective hearts.

This was a terrible movie! Apparently it never occurs to the morons in the movie to just leave the house. Although there wouldn't be a movie if they did just that. The scary cats made my cats look mentally challenged! But I did notice a few boo-boos. The cat at the top of the stairs under the box couldn't figure out how to get the box off of him but later he figured out how to jump through a pane of glass. All in all the movie sucked and I am sure didn't help any of the actors careers. I did notice that one of the twins that played the daughter went on to make "Cybersex Kittens". How ironic.

Laughably bad horror flick about a group of stray cats that live underneath a house. For some reason or another (it is never explained) the cats kill all people they come in contact with. Good for a few laughs, but nothing else. The premise is one of the worst ones I have seen in years and why some respectable actors choose to make this is beyond me. Originally a made for TV movie that aired on USA.Rated PG-13; Violence.
