Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island Trailers

After going their separate ways, Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred reunite to investigate the ghost of Moonscar the pirate on a haunted bayou island, but it turns out the swashbuckler's spirit isn't the only creepy character on the island. The sleuths also meet up with cat creatures and zombies... and it looks like for the first time in their lives, these ghouls might actually be real.

OK, this one was the one that started it all...it is also the one that really updated Scooby Doo for the late 90s...And with an Anne Rice feel. The follow up was very Stephen King, right down to a parody of the writer, but this was all New Orleans and Anne Rice by nature and it worked. It worked as a parody and it worked as an episode of Scooby Doo and, most importantly, it was fun.

This animated Scooby Doo movie was actually good compared to the stereotypical and average Scooby Doo stories. Why? Well, I will not say, as it would be a spoiler. Let's just say that the movie differs from the rest of the stories. Now, I am way past my childhood, but still picked this up because it has zombies in it, and because it is Scooby Doo after all. So I figured it would be something enjoyable and watchable for both me and my son alike. And that was exactly what it was, as we both enjoyed it."Scooby Doo on Zombie Island" does have the typical comedy as in every other Scooby Doo adventures, which is a must in order to be entertaining. So if you enjoy those, then you will enjoy this animated movie too.As far as the art goes for "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island", then it is your typical Hanna Barberra style art for the series, which is a definite plus. It is just like something from when I was a kid.The voice acting in this animated movie is good, and even features Mark Hamill. I will say that all the voice actors did good jobs with their given roles and characters. This animated movie is fun and entertaining for the entire Family, regardless of you actually liking Scooby Doo or not.

The beauty of Scooby Doo is that there are no ghosts. In this story, ghosts, zombies and vampire-like creatures are real. Souls are sucked from people, who then inhabit the swap. At the end when the bad monsters die, the zombies crumble and their souls are released.Luckily I watch movies with my kid. I fast forwarded through the nasty parts (gory zombies, Fred and Daff ripping the head of a real body) expecting the usual ending, only to be faced with multiple victims who died and then crumbled to dust. Who would expect that from Scooby Doo????To the viewer who said this was the best ever: I like character development, but not bait and switch.

Scooby Doo on Zombie Island is the best direct-to-video Scooby-Doo yetPlot: After years of uncovering phony phantoms and ghosts the gang has split up. Fred (Frank Welker) and Daphne (Mary Kay Bergman) have their own television show documenting their past mysteries. Velma (B.J. Ward) owns her own mystery book shop and Shaggy (Billy West) and Scooby-Doo (Scott Ines) work at an airport. For Daphne's birthday they get back together to try to find real monsters for her T.V. show. Along the way they meet Lena (Tara Charendoff) who tells them about the haunted house she works at on Moonscar Island and invites them over. They except and once there they meet Simone (Adrienne Barbeau). As day leads into night the gang discovers the haunting's may be true. The Good News: They say the first is the best and this one really proves that true. There is really a lot to like here and not a lot to dislike. This may surprise a lot of people, but this film is really suspenseful. The final half hour really represents this. It had me on the edge of my seat and is filled with lots of twists and turns. The animation also shines here, but I don't want to give anything away. The first ghost sighting is creepy and provides a few chills, actually all the ghost sightings prior to the climax are very unearthly and leave you with a set of chills. The idea of it suddenly becoming cold before the ghosts attack is an old one, but this proves it can still work. The addition of voodoo is thrown into the mix, but it just adds to the film instead of lowering it. The music also adds to the film and gives it a creepier edge. The all-star cast provides a ton of great voices and I have to mention that the great Adrienne Barbeau is in this. The addition of real monsters was nice and provided a lot of great opportunities. The film moves along a fast pace and it is never boring. It also has a high re watch ability factor. The Bad News: There could have been a few more ghost attacks and the jokes could have been funnier. Conclusion: If you're a Scooby fan you'll eat this up and it provides more entertainment than a regular Scooby-Doo episode so others will also find a lot to like here too. Recommend.Rated: Not Rated
