Not bad, for the time it was released. I liked it, Snipes pre-Blade success.

Passenger 57LOL, I could not even finish this movie. I think it was after 30 minutes, I had to just call it quits. Usually I'm all in when 90s action cheese is playing but this movie was just drop dead boring. I'm not sure what the behind the scenes backstory was but it played out like an uninspired cash grab. But the biggest sin of all is the action was lame when it was on screen. All I know is it was putting me to sleep and I had to change the channel.

Passenger 57 and Red Eye are the only aeroplane thrillers worth watching. Passenger 57 movie plot is a bit over the top, but the majority of it is standard, the most ridiculous part is the bad guy that has complete facial changes, the line "he keeps changing his face" is just off and for a moment it's difficult to take this film seriously, but as the movie goes on it becomes very interesting, the good performances outweigh the mullets, 90s clothes and Casio keyboard music, i love my film scores - but this film score soundtrack composed by Stanley Clarke takes some getting used to.The small plot twist before everything kicks off is actually surprising, Elizabeth Hurley starting the chain of events by shooting someone is unexpected, but when you watch this movie more than once and pay closer attention there are major clues that she is working with the bad guys. There's a particular scene where race is mentioned and makes no sense whatsoever, the line "it's a black thing" pops up, as a Black British person to this day i do not get what that scene and that stupid line even means, maybe it's an American thing, but i doubt it, the white guy wants to know why the lady (who is black) flirted with Wesley Snipes character and not with him, did it ever occur to these people that she is only attracted to black guys?! It doesn't have to be "a black thing", it's simply "a preference thing".There's some martial arts thrown in which makes this film more watchable. Passenger 57 is not much of an action flick, there's rarely any shoot em up scenes, this is more of a thriller. If you want a good aeroplane thriller, check out this movie.

Playing the title role in Passenger 57 is airline security expert Wesley Snipes who is on board a flight where known terrorist Bruce Payne is being transported to face justice. Only Payne has other ideas. A whole flock of his confederates are on the flight including one of the stewardesses Elizabeth Hurley. She's a pretty deadly all on her own.Payne has some scheme afoot and needs the plane for more than just escape. He has to have the plane landed to refuel. My sheer dumb luck as Snipes is heeding nature's call Payne and his crew miss him. At this point it becomes a deadly cat and mouse game between Payne and Snipes with each exchanging the role of cat and mouse at different points of the film.Action fans will have no cause for complaint from Passenger 57. The tension is at times overwhelming. It always is in airline films where passengers are helpless thousands of feet above the ground and have no choice but to trust the professionals. This is inherent in every film about an airline flight going back to The High And The Mighty and much further than that.Snipes and Payne are an evenly matched set of adversaries. Passenger 57 is a tension filled movie right up the end.
