"Cleanskin" is a very good film from 2012. It is currently available on NetFlix Instant Download Streaming. The writer and director is Hadi Hajaig. For me, Sean (aka 'Ewan') puts on a fantastic performance, in a film where I was also very impressed with Peter Polycarpou (aka 'Nabil'). The romance between Ash and Kate felt very believable, not all actors/actresses can pull this job off. It was a film that touches on a very serious subject, so for all you rom-com addicts, prob not one for you, lol! However, although a serious topic, you'll find some light hearted humor in parts of the film. Have already recommended to friends and family, purchased on DVD myself, so go and watch too if you already haven't. Overall, a great watch with some excellent action shots and twists and turns throughout. I gave it 8 stars. Dale Haufrect

I really enjoyed this intelligent, tough, uncompromising portrayal of a British agent trying to catch a "cleanskin" (no terrorist history or connections) middle eastern young man who is recruited as a jihadist. Sean Bean does a nice portrayal of a troubled war veteran who loves his country. The other main characters are all very believable in the roles they play. It is possible to understand how a seemingly reasonable Arab leader could recruit "normal" young men into the movement and gradually progress them to suicide bombers. We see even more of this now that so many westerners have joined ISIS.The tension builds throughout this movie. You are really unsure of what exactly is going on until the very end. I enjoyed this movie as much as Arlington Road, another hidden gem of a film, which is similar in many ways.(Spoiler) I liked that the film does not make anyone either good or bad. Some, perhaps all, of the characters do horrible things but they have their reasons. And the reasons make sense.

If you enjoy touring slaughterhouses, this is your movie. Two hours of ceaseless gore and violence interspersed with unsightly people having graphic sex and women getting beaten up by macho studs. My one word review --- abomination --- sums it up its totality. The characters are thoroughly detestable, the mood is universally black and sombre, the morals and motivations of all the characters are evil and twisted. Not enough that people are stabbed to death, the scenes are needlessly gory and detailed. If this is your thing, it will be a great movie for you. But if this is your thing, you certainly have an unhealthy mind and possible dangerous latent violent tendencies. If nothing else, this dreadful, disgusting film demonstrates that Hollywood does not have the monopoly on cinematic crap!

The story begins intriguingly by going straight into an action sequence. It then flips back and forth between Sean Bean's character and the man who becomes the 'bride' later on. This kind of approach is a redo to some of the nineties era movie which sees less surprises but greater anticipation as the viewers think they have seen all elements for the story to unfold. But in the end, the story is still able to present quite nice twists, although they're quite predictable just as they're going to appear. The action is not really a high class execution here. But this movie depends more on ruthlessness on the part of Sean bean's character. He is indeed the right choice this his role here due to he can still retain the ruthless character I once saw in Patriot Games.
