Jinn Trailers

From the beginning, stories of angels and men have captured our imaginations and have been etched into our history crossing all boundaries of culture, religion, and time. These two races have dominated the landscape of modern mythology for countless centuries, almost washing away the evidence that a third ever existed. This third race, born of smokeless fire, was called the jinn. Similar to humans in many ways, the jinn lived invisibly among us and only under dire or unusual circumstances were our paths ever meant to cross.

This is a movie to play when nothing else is on Sunday TV. It drags and drags. The main character is a dork and slow to learn, relies on his good looks to spice up the screen, and so clumsy. The storyline was the worst screen to screen performance I've ever seen. I'm not a major movie watcher and can be satisfied watching commercials, but this one was worse than an infomercial. I can only think that this was a pet project by a student or a spoiled rich kid. The only parts that I liked was the black smoke reeking from the jinn while he was floating and the glowing eyes from a "good guy". The rest of the movie is sketchy and lacks smooth transitions that mean something in movie land because we are not there. Viewers need these things to stay on course. I'll never watch a movie ignoring the Netflix ratings and thankfully I didn't read the crazy maxed out stars on here because I would have been truly annoyed at how misleading they are. Ten thousand stars just to balance out the lower stars??? Where does this justify in movie land? Thank God these folks don't have real lives and watch these horrible movies instead of voting for Oscar nominees, etc.

Unlike some reviewers, I found the acting and FX passable, and at times even well done. I certainly have seen a lot worse. My biggest problem is with this monstrosity of a melding of three religions. What a mess! You have to be a moron to think there is any reconciling of these three religions, since you'd have to vacate all their essential teachings to do this. Also, the entire mythos of the Jinn just falls flat from the beginning. The verse from Ezekiel 1:13 read in support of their existence is totally out of context and has absolutely nothing to do with any Jinn; rather this verse describes the Seraphim who surround and guard the throne of God, and there are only four of them. They are also described in Revelation 4:6-9. They are not a "third race" but a special class of angelic being, those closest to God throne. But if you suspend your incredulity for an hour or so, the film is nice entertainment. I have no wish for a sequel to this pretentious hodge-podge of cosmological muck. One is more than enough, thanks!

I really just don't know what to fully make of this rubbish. Right from the start this is just a terrible movie that tries in vain to pull itself off as a serious horror. From it's deplorable premise, acting and dialogue, it's any wonder that anyone involved didn't just gave up halfway through and walk off the set during filming. For some reason the movie tries to make us believe that only 3 beings were ever created; man made of clay, angels made of light and jinns made of fire. At one point in the movie, we are told and expected to believe that there are no such things as ghosts, poltergeists or demons and that everything bad that happens in the world is the work of the Jinn. So forget everything you've ever learnt before. Plane crashes, disease, wars, terrorism, Kirsten Stewart; they're all the result of Jinns. Most of the time I couldn't even work out what was going on and after several attempts at trying to make sense of this movie I simply gave up trying, so I never even made it to the end. The dialogue is so soft at times it's like they're whispering to each other knowing that what they're saying is so stupid that hopefully we won't pick up on it. That is until something weird happens then we have the obligatory loud sudden music that blows you out of the room hoping that the sheer shock and inevitable heart attack that follows will somehow turn this crap into some kind of horror movie.Nothing I saw in this made any sense and it's so disjointed it's like no one even read the script. The main protagonist is somehow the latest in a long line of supposed Jinn killers and now without any real explanation he has evil stalking him. This evil wants to manifest itself in the form of a shadow at the window in a nearby building and a break in at his home which results in some kind of bizarre furniture stacking. All of this is of course supernatural as no human can stack furniture and no voyeur ever cast a shadow in a window but whatever. So we're off to see a priest as the cops didn't take anything seriously and why would they seeing as nothing has happened and no one was hurt, but there's evil afoot so why not go to a priest. This priest who just so happens to know all about him and tells him that evil is stalking him gives him a dagger just in case there's more evil furniture stacking and fluttering papers.I gave up at this point as I refuse to watch a movie that's making no sense and follows no story format and has no plot. Jinn is a garbage movie and that's where it belongs.

I have a lot of fun watching this movie. The Master Symbol which puts together the Jewish, Christian and Islamic symbols touched me because I dream a unity like that since I was a child. I'd wish to see it in the real world.Movie is good, I enjoyed VFX and Practical FX work because I know how hard they could be by the first hand - especially on limited budgets.Viewers who thinking its a car commercial should watch movies like Gone In Sixty Seconds, Vanishing Point, Fast & Furious and Need For Speed. Obviously the designer of the new Firebird is involved with the movie but car is not overused and its really cool to watch it rides actually. It looks great.Acting is not top notch I should say, director could work on actors a lot more to get the most out of them and inspire them to achieve their full potential. And my opinions will probably be extremely biased about The Goddess Serinda Swan so its not necessary to write here how much I worship her...Well anyway; Story is solid actually but its based on false assumptions and misinterpretation of the holy books, ancient texts and scriptures. The demons are the demons inside of us (repeating memories, unsolved issues from the past etc.) and Jinn described on the Quran is not actually a devilish creature working against humans. So the story is based on a total fantasy. And since its a fantasy movie its cool...I'm giving 10 stars to balance unfair 1 star reviews since we are living in a world that loves HungerGames/Twilight and hates Prometheus - enough said.
