Very Nice and Enjoyable Family Fun and a message at the end.... Truly Miss such Chill out family fun movies, we once used to enjoy so much during the 80's and 90's..... But now we hardly witness such good and family fun movies but mainly witness only 3D, action , Science fiction..... Focusing too.much on technology, we have gradually losing the substance in it that made movies so sweet and memorable...... Good Actors and Oh I love the music and songs in the entire movie..... DEFINITELY GO AND WATCH IT.... If you truly miss those Old Golden Family Fun movie day's.... It will definitely take you back there..... ENJOY..... TUMPBS UP IF IT HELPED YOU..... MY MESSAGE TO ALL OF YOU......... " USE TECHNOLOGY ONLY HAS A TOOL, AND NOT HAS A NECESSITY...... AND START TO LIVE YOUR LIFE MORE NATURALLY. "

Never had I seen a movie so bad, that i wanted to throw up. This movie is so unrealistic that it hurts, it should be an animation more than a movie. This makes me sad, displaying our adult audience as people who have half a brain, do not have any type of common sense, and the worst part is how this blonde kid never got charged for the numerous crimes that he took place in. Let alone the kids despite "saving owls" broke laws that were not even related to the plot. Proving a point is fine but this movie is teaching kids to break the law and its OK as long as you "save a certain type of creature."

Hoot is a pleasant and innocuous comedy about a trio of teens who save an owl nesting place from being bulldozed to make way for a fast food type pancake house. As if Florida didn't already have enough of them. The teens are Logan Lerman, Brie Larson, and Cody Linley. The characters seem to be borrowed from Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, and Huck Finn. Well if the Magic Kingdom is going to borrow, borrowing from someone like Mark Twain is certainly a good idea.Lerman is a new kid in town who because of that becomes the target of the school bully. But when he's not dealing with that or when Ms. Larson isn't dealing with Eric Phillips the bully, he's gotten himself in their crusade to save some owls who have nested on the property the corporation wants to build on. This is by no means a new theme for Disney, as far back as Cesar Romero and Keenan Wynn played tycoons whose only interest is making money no matter what the cost.I like what Cody Linley did with his role. He's the barefoot kid just like Huckleberry Finn along the Mississippi only here its the sands of the Florida beaches. Hoot is nothing terribly special, but it is a pleasant 90 minutes viewing.

If you're a kid liking fairy tale "real life" adventures, see it. If you're a youth liking kids movies, why not see it? :) If you're a parent going to see a movie with your kids, you're WAY better of opting for the squirrel! The start of this film was a bit funny, and set some good premises for the happenings to take place. But after the kind of funny introduction of characters, settings and potential conflicts, the story turned out kinda dull. When more or less the same things happen for the third and fourth time, the word "predictable" repeatedly comes to mind just like parts of a dented LP or those commercials you really hate. And the culmination of the plot... *oh sigh*... poor, poor, poor!
