One may think that a film with Ray Romano and Kevin James (both then known for their comedy shows) would assumed that this film to be a funny film, but it really wasn't that funny to me. There were jokes in the film, and some one-liners which I knew was intended for laughs but none of that worked. Some little comedic things that I read some people found funny; Kevin James tripping over a fence, Kevin James little pen stares, Sofia Vergara revealing herself to Ray Romano, Burt Reynolds short speech before signing the papers, Juliette Lewis drunk persona, along with other dialogues. I understood the jokes and scenario but it wasn't so much the comedy that worked. Although, the film is quite different (somewhat like a dark comedy but not so much- Id described it as a little crime/drama intended with funny comedic parts). Grilled starts off slow, for about the first 40 or so minutes then gets better around 45 mins when Michael Rappaport character comes in. The action/mystery/crime sets in and I think it gets better. It's quite a short film (83 mins) and at times feels like a television episode stretched out, but for the most part I liked it and found it entertaining. Id recommend watching it if you can find it---http://www.1channel. ch/external. php?title=Grilled& url=aHR0cDovL2 dvcmlsbGF2aWQuY29tLzE0YjVuenUxNXJrYg ==&domain=Z29ya WxsYXZpZC5jb20=&loggedin=0 (erase the "spaces") ...Im also not surprised it didn't make it in theatres. I think this film would have gotten hazed by critics and the general audiences. Don't expect too much though, just have an open mind.

This movie caught me off guard when I first saw it !!! I never knew Ray Romano and Kevin James made a movie together !!...and that they swore a lot(especially Kevin - he really like to use those words a lot), so I got interested in this movie , just to catch Ray and Kevin talking like that and playing characters not like their TV roles!!! So as I got caught up into the movie , I then discovered this gorgeous creature(Sofi'a) with this accent that she uses to "seduce" with her sexy looks and the sexy movement of her hot body !!!! Unfortunately I can understand why this movie went straight to video , for me , I enjoyed Sofi'a's seducing scenes but her part came during the middle part of the movie....and there's a surprise that caught me off guard with Sofi'a's character "Loridonna" !!! Anyway the beginning of the movie starts off slow but interesting to watch Ray and Kevin work off each other in a different type of comedy for them. And after Sofi'a's scenes the movie slows down again, but a cameo by Burt Reynolds gets pretty interesting.

This turkey was shown recently on Comedy Central, which is ironic because, well, there's not much comedy in this movie. I saw this after it came out to video when my sister rented it.Kevin James & Ray Romano play meat salesmen out to make the big sale and get involved in a bizarre situation with a couple of mob hit men who kill the guy they are trying to sell meat to. Then, instead of trying to escape with their lives, they try to sell meat to the hit men! After escaping from the trunk of their car and fleeing for their lives, what do they do? They finally make the big sale! There. I saved you a couple hours of your life. You won't really care how the movie ends. I didn't, just wanted it to get over with so I could watch something else. This movie really has no point, the acting is stiff & boring, and the awkward overuse of profanity will disappoint anyone expecting to see the lovable king of Queens and Raymond. There really isn't much of a plot, no humor, and the characters are one-dimensional. If James & Romano think that movies like this will be their big leap to the big screen, well then, everybody will hate Raymond.

GRILLED predictably sat on the shelf for a time before finally being released direct to video. Better it should have stayed buried. TV actors Ray Romano and Kevin James play a pair of underhanded meat salesmen (the movie tagline says it all) who run afoul of gangsters, a smoking hot transsexual and assorted and sundry goofballs and fools. Juliette Lewis plays a suicidal bimbo and Sofia Vergara is Romano's fleeting love interest. Burt Reynolds and Jon Polito are also along for this wildly uneven ride. What a disaster. Everyone involved in this should be ashamed. Unearthly beauty Vergara is the only reason to watch even five minutes of this.
