I miss Jeff Goldblum. He is the tall nerdy scientist in the first film that constantly reminded the viewer not to take it all too seriously. Bette Middler is a great "new" feline villain. Her human magician sidekick is most annoying and not funny. Some of it works but most of it flies over the heads of younger children. Try to explain to a child why it is titled "The Revenge of Kitty Galore"? Shirley Bassy singing the musical "title" is a hoot! The Flying German Shepard Dogs is maybe the best scene of all. I miss the original cast and more clever voice casting. The Jim Henson puppets in the first film are far better than the (almost) total CGI in this film. For a sequel, it's not bad but I still like the first one better. It was was run to death for many years on cable and the sequel should have been done many years sooner.

When I saw a trailer for this movie I wanted to go and see it despite its bad reviews. In all the reviews I read people said that the movie sucked. What I don't understand is why does everyone always judge sequel's so badly? Not all sequels are bad,and that's a true fact.Have you ever watched Toy Story 3?That is a sequel and that movie was even better than the first. Now about Cats and Dogs 2.I liked this one better than the first and I really don't care what others may think about that.Yes its a kids movie so of course its not going to please adults. But that doesn't mean little kids are the only ones who will like it.I'm sure some teenagers like it as well.I know that's true because I'm 15 and I enjoy this movie. I'm just being honest with my review so don't let anyone stop you from seeing this movie and make you're own opinions on it.All I can say now is sit back and enjoy the adventure because it go's by fast.So remember either you like it or you don't.

It's not quite up to par with the original, but this film still holds its own. This is fun to watch, and is rather clever and has its own gags, making fun of some of the gags from the earlier film. As with the earlier movie, there are homages to classic pictures. There are also some lessons dealing with getting along and obedience without beating the children over the head with them. This is an entertaining movie and one that is for the entire family and one hundred percent enjoyable. I'm forty-six and laughed all the way through it. If you're looking for a Best Picture Winner, forget it. If you're looking for something you can show your kids, this is it.

I repeat: This is a CHILDREN'S MOVIE!!There's a lot of up and down votes on something that really wasn't meant for critically snarky 30-somethings. Get a grip! The First Movie was interesting because the concept of our pets being part of shadow spy organizations that stayed out of human sight was an eye-opener. Following up on the initial break-out is always an up-hill slog. This one was Okay. Crazed Cat Villain attempts to take over the world by making all dogs go crazy so humans will put them all into kennels. Both Canine and Feline Organizations get together to prevent disaster. what follows is EASY and ENTERTAINING to a Child. . .Repeat: 'Entertaining to a Child', not someone's Little Genius who reads the New York Times for Bedtime Stories! The references and gags put in for the accompanying adults are there to LIGHTLY ENTERTAIN us by eliciting Pun-Groans or soft snickers. They ARE NOT trying to give you a Comedy Central Sidetrack. The Adult is NOT the Target Audience here. If they did that, IT WOULD NOT BE A KID MOVIE ANYMORE!Personally, I groaned at the Batman/Joker redux of Kitty Galore. Then I smiled at the Dangerous Kitty doing the Silence of the Lambs sendup. And the rest of the time, I just sat back and enjoyed a rambunctious, Tom & Jerry style action romp simply because I wanted to be entertained by something lighthearted. And the Pigeon was a Hoot!Simply put: A good clean Movie for Little Kids that won't put the adult to sleep. Or even if you don't have Kids, and you want something light and silly to watch that doesn't require thought, this is an easy choice. Enough said.
