Nice movie! Big Momma's House 2 is a 2006 American crime comedy film and the sequel to Big Momma's House. The film was directed by John Whitesell, based on the characters created by Darryl Quarles from the original film, and starring Martin Lawrence reprising his role as FBI agent Malcolm Turner. The film was released theatrically on January 27, 2006 and was critically panned as critics felt that a sequel was unnecessary. Unlike the original, the film is more family friendly compared to the original film's more mature target demographic. The film was not well received by film critics, scoring 6% at Rotten Tomatoes. Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) has been assigned a desk job in public relations as an FBI agent, since he wants to live with his new wife, Sherry Pierce (Nia Long), during her delivery for the couple's new baby boy. Meanwhile, an incident occurs in Orange County, California, where Malcolm's old friend, Doug Hudson (Kirk B.R. Woller), has been killed while he was going undercover. FBI agent Kevin Keneally (Zachary Levi) is doing surveillance on a former U.S. Army military intelligence specialist named Tom Fuller (Mark Moses), who has since retired and is working for a private corporation called National Agenda Software. The FBI has soon discovered that Tom is developing a computer worm which will create backdoors into the databases of all the branches of the U.S. government. Affected by his friend's death, Malcolm asks FBI chief, Crawford (Dan Lauria), to put him on the case, but Crawford refuses and tells him to stay away for safety analysis. By eavesdropping via the webcam, Malcolm finds out that the FBI is sending one of the agents to infiltrate Fuller's house as a nanny. Giving Sherry the pretext of attending a safety conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Malcolm leaves for Orange County and takes the "Big Momma" costume with him.

The first film is reasonable entertainment, not as good as something like Mrs. Doubtfire, but not bad, and I saw that the critics didn't rate this sequel very highly, so I had to see why, from director John Whitesell (Deck the Halls). Basically Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) is still working for the FBI, but behind a desk and not out on assignments, as his pregnant wife Sherri Pierce (Are We There Yet's Nia Long) is due to give birth to their baby very soon, but after the death of his friend Doug Hudson (Kirk B.R. Woller) he is keen to carry on where he left off. His new sidekick Kevin Keneally (Zachary Levi) is investigating suspected computer virus developing former Military Intelligence Specialist Tom Fuller (Mark Moses) in Orange County, and the job requires someone going undercover. There is an advertisement made by Fuller's wife Leah (Emily Procter) seeking a nanny to take care of the kids and do all the household chores, and reprising his character disguise as Hattie Mae Pierce, aka Big Momma, Malcolm beats the other candidates, including a female secret agent trying to infiltrate too. While investigating what Tom Fuller is up to when he is not at home with the family, Leah feels that "Big Momma" is not doing any of the chores listed, and not doing anything to help the three kids, Molly (Kat Dennings), Carrie (Kick-Ass's Chloë Grace Moretz) and Andrew (twins Preston and Trevor Shores). He slowly gets the family members all on side, and also gets some good leads on the investigation, and the FBI might not have all their information about Fuller's involvement fully correct. By the end, Malcolm obviously reveals his identity to most that need to know, Tom is found innocent thanks to him, the Fuller family show how his presence benefit, and Sherrie comes round and has the baby. Also starring Marisol Nichols as Liliana Morales. Lawrence is still reasonably funny in and out of the fat woman suit, although he was a little annoying as "her" in some scenes, the slapstick isn't as funny as previously seen, the scripting is pretty lacklustre, overall, it's just not as good as the first, a bit of a lazy action comedy. It was nominated the Razzie for Worst Prequel or Sequel. Adequate!

BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE 2, in my opinion, is a flat-out funny, excellent sequel which is less crass than its predecessor. If you ask me, Malcolm (Martin Lawrence) was very good at masquerading as a southern granny. Still, he wasn't much of a housekeeper at first, though. This was especially my opinion when he attempted to do the laundry early on. The reason for this is because of what he did with the clothes afterward. When I saw that, I wanted to vomit. Ugh! Some of the high points were Big Momma chasing after Chad on a scooter, helping Carrie with her dance routines, and getting Molly to shape up. I still enjoyed this movie just the same. In conclusion, if you like Martin Lawrence, I highly recommend this film and the predecessor. When you see this movie, prepare for lots of big laughs.

If you had seen the first movie you pretty much guessed what this would be like. C'mon it's Martin Lawerence not Will Smith. So he gets back into the 'Big Momma' outfit and stakes out a crim. At this stage I figured this is where Vin Diesel's movie stole that Pacifier movie. In fact the kids are almost the same. Actually the hacker (Malcolm) was funny...The movie was predictable in parts but it was still watchable. Though the FBI not knowing that the main suspects Dad was at Oklahoma seemed a bit lame but then again, where is Osama? The end though was so sappy that it could have been the end to the Color Purple, in fact I expected to see people coming through the fields...
