Batman Begins is a great example of what a reboot should be. It honors the source material, yet creates something that is new and exciting. This movie is a bit slow at the beginning, but it manages to pick up the pace and create thrilling scenes and dramatic tension -- all while remaining anchored to a realistic world. This movie helped me better understand why Bruce Wayne becomes Batman and why the criminals fear him. Well done, Mr. Nolan.

Batman Begins is about Batman's origin story where he begins his journey as a superhero vigilante. Bruce Wayne learns from the League of Shadows and later thwarts a plot to destroy Gotham. The movie is a great high budget entertainment flick. From the beginning of the movie, the audience can follow Bruce Wayne's story. He is self-exiled and trains under the League of Shadows. Bruce keeps his moral code and refuses to kill which leads to an impressive scene of his escape. The movie continues its good use of cinematography and directing. Christopher Nolan does a good job with the set pieces here. There is never a technically incompetent done shot or edit. The actors all do a good job with their lines with the obvious stand-out being Christian Bale. Christian Bale does a great job in the role and he could be the best portrayal of Batman in cinema. The soundtrack and sound design all present each scene appropriately. The audience can feel the intensity in the scene and the beats. Hans Zimmer does a great job in collaborating with Christopher Nolan to deliver an audio and visual experience. There are some flaws with the movie which lie in its flow and writing. Some scenes could have been lead up to better. These scenes spontaneously introduce the action. Likewise the dialogue especially with Scarecrow could have been written better. These are minor issues and Batman Begins is a recommended movie for all audiences.
... View MoreThis film has 2 subjects I enjoy: Psychology and Philosophy. The Psychological aspect is fear. This is shown in the throughout the film that Bruce got to overcome the fear to save himself and Gotham. The Philosophy aspect is mainly what principle Bruce has and decision he made based on it. Both aspect is a good build up from the start till the end and now I know why people love Batman.
... View MoreI love almost everything about this movie. It is dark, serious and intense. I also think it's an oscarworthy performance by Christian Bale who has to capture a lot of emotional nuances in this. What makes this movie miss the 10/10 mark for me is how Nolan chooses to add some cheesy stuff in the end to explain what's going on for the "assumed to be dumb" audience. By the way, the Batman suit were WAY more intimidating and cool in this movie than in the sequels. While The Dark Knight might be the better movie overall, Begins takes it as the greatest superhero movie ever made. TDK is more of a Thriller where Batman happens to pop up everynow and then (I'm overexaggerating obviously) while Batman Begins really is a movie about Batman/Bruce Wayne himself.
