To start off, i'll say what everyone else has, its not as good as the first, has nothing to do with the first, and the action is fairly weak. Though as its own film bearing no resemblance but the title to the 1st, its actually pretty good. This movie spends most of it's time focusing on the relationship between highly secret military operations, and the the politicians who authorized it.You have SEAL Team 1,The president, his advisers, and later on a South Korean ambassador, After the SEALS have been compromised the movie focuses on what options they have left, with a few bursts of action from the stranded SEAL team. It shows how they come to their decisions, what affects them, and what they have to consider, from being detected, to what happens afterward, and what if everything goes wrong and war breaks out. The main fault with this film is it has the overused gruff military stereotype known as General Vance who simply want to blow the s**t out of everything to move the political plot along, if there was a more reasonable commander it would've been a bit more effective. The action segment focuses on the SEALs attempting to survive behind enemy lines, with the main character often flashbacking to his training to help him survive. It's alright but not as cool as the original film where an entire army is hunting down one man. The actors play their roles very well, and their acting is very good but most of the characters don't get developed very far, the SEALs are badass(especially Keith David as the Master chief), the president is safety conscious, the General is a warmonger, and the SK Ambassador always complains about how the US government never takes the rest of the world into consideration, thats where the film tends to suffer. While not entirely accurate to the real world as we tend to see it, and with the action being sub-par and the very annoying color correction done to the N. Korean scenes making it look like a whitish green wasteland, i still enjoy watching this film. Fans of the original will be disappointed unless they have an open mind, but its not as bad as many seem to claim it to be, its a interesting thriller, addressing both military and political issues surrounding most covert ops, so give it a chance, its about 1.6 hrs long so even if you don't like it, it wont be a huge waste of time

at first i thought that this one was some made up actioneer, to follow up on a hit movie.. boy was i wrong. apparently in 1994 we were days if not hours from a war with Korea. then in 2004 a mushroom cloud appeared over n.Korea, and the united states was very suspicious to accept all of the offered stories. such as a fire, a cloud formation, an explosion at a hydroelectric dam. what really happened was n.Korea, was building a stage 3 tae dong missile, capable of hitting an city in the united states. they recently test fired missiles within the last year, and we know kim il jung is nuts anyway, so this movie is very possible,, and most likely did happen in real life, and probably will again except on a much stronger level. this movie KICKS butt. the action was first rate. i like how they used Ben cross in this one,, in a series of flashbacks. i like the situation room scenes in the white house, very nicely done,, this film had top notch veteran actors. matter of fact i really can't find hardly anything wrong with this movie, it's not quite a 10 but way better than most of the users on this site are willing to give it credit,, where credit should be due. it is a fine sequel to the first behind enemy lines.. only reason it wasn't as good as th e first was no gene hackman or Owen Wilson,, but other than that, you have a movie that i would recommend to anyone,, i guess that's because i'm a history buff, and enjoy movies ripped from today's headlines,, they even used news clips of Colin Powell , condaleeza rice, to name a few. overall this movie is a big THUMBS UP.

Being involved with the SAS, SBS and Royal Marines at various stages i know a bit about special ops. The plot to this movie is believe able and all the SEAL tactics seen are real however what lets this film down is the gun fights scenes. SEALS are some of the best shots in the world also they were using AK-47 assault riffles firing 5.56 ammo in 30 round mags. They never seemed to reload. Also the taxi just ruins the credibility completely however i felt had the film more budget and a director who had done some research it could have been a film on par with Black Hawk down and Jar Head. The plot was also slightly week and the links to Clinton at the start just confuse the audience.
