My all time favorite horror movie , the best one I ever saw, with the creepy story , the perfect acting, from the beginning to the end , you can't close your eyes because you don't want to miss any scene, it's charming , beautiful , and it's 80's !! , the best era for horror movies in my humble opinion, I could watch this one a million times and I never get bored . btw the 2011 remake was (ok) , but not like this one , this the greatest .

This ultimately fails and in turn he and every person his closed with is pursued to be the vampire's next victim. I would not lie this film has a lot of problems to begin with. Its universe is oddly inconsistent in its lore and story-wise, it does not really offer anything new. But it oddly worked for me. Its lack of ambition and overall conviction of its characters gave it a enjoyable self-serious melodramatic camp that had been lost in a lot of film nowadays. It is also inventively successful in integrating vampire tropes and styles to fit in a kitschy eighties. A true surprise, Fright Night tells you that it does not need perfect to be likable. Its just need to be true to itself to be great [4.5/5]

I never actually got to see this film until today and i just now i finished it and i gotta say Fright Night is probably one of the coolest Vampire Movies ever Made. The 80's music is fantastic, the characters are well made and react how actual people would react and not the stupidity we see this days, the special effects and the prosthetics are some of the best that i have seen from Amy's creepy new look to even Billy Cole's epic death and let's not forget that awesome Wolf Scene Transformation and i kept wondering how they did all that i mean it's a 1985 film for god shakes. Also the acting is pretty damn good Chris Sarandon who plays the Vampire is really good and he does have a creepy vibe to him from the way he moves to even the way he talks especially when he transforms plus that Club scene was so Terminator (1984), Roddy McDowall as Peter Vincent just a great great character that keeps developing as the film goes on and William Ragsdale as Charley Brewster the kid reacts the way that every person with an actual brain would react if he or she learned that their neighbor is a Vampire or a Werewolf. Overall great film and in my opinion probably one of the best Vampire films ever made and it's definitely way better than just a pathetic 7.1 common IMDb!!!

View MoreAfter a neighbor moves in next door, a series of strange disappearances around town causes a teen and his friends to believe he's a vampire and calls a TV horror-show host for help in controlling the swarm appearing in town and get back his girlfriend under his spell.Frankly, this one was quite fun and really offers up an enjoyable time here. This one here gets a lot right with the first half built up of the big revelation here, as not only is there a lot of mileage generated from the actual convincing to get people to believe him. There's a lot of fun here with the vampire toying with him as he's moving in, the gradual news of those disappearing around the town and the way he corrupts others right in front of him to keep the secret, while there's a lot more to be had here from how it handles the action. From the first session peeking at him taking the prostitute and then witnessing the disposal of the body later, there's some good times to be had as this gets rather fun doing the bedroom tormenting throwing him around in his true form only for a last-minute save, the testing sequence at the vampires' house with his friends is really good as the way it's hidden makes this good until the final revelation at the end which is a wholly fantastic idea, and that it leads into the suspenseful alleyway talking as well as chasing through the nightclub afterwards makes this one all the better. The individual confrontations between the newly-turned vampires provides the final nail here that gives the truth to this once and for all. These here are made all the more fun with the action here in the finale where there's a whole slew of great confrontations and stalking here, featuring encounters with both henchmen as well as utilizing the different houses for some additional fun in the brawl with the vampire shapeshifting around the house while he's busy dealing with the vampire over in the second house where they get into some utterly enjoyable fighting against the deformed main vampire in a variety of locations throughout here. While there's more good stuff elsewhere in here, from the sensual seduction scene after he kidnaps her and the slew of impressive make-up utilized, the finale is the start of the film's problems here where it really drags out far longer than it really should. Being based on encounters throughout the house is a great way to up the action but it feels drawn-out instead of the epic battle it's clearly going for. It's an obvious attempt to rectify the main problem leading up to this, that by basing the majority of the film around trying to get people to believe him doesn't leave this with a whole lot of action as his claims are pretty logical but aren't laid out in a way that generates the desired suspense from them, leading to the over-compensation. With the finale. The cheese might also derail some, but it's the others issues here being more prevalent.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Brief Nudity.
