If you loved the series, like me, you will like this movie. It fills in some details from the Cylon's point of view from the first 2 years mainly. But it seemed more like some 20th HS reunion than anything coherent. the lovable Adama directed this and he doted over it to the satisfaction of his fans. But an outsider who is unfamiliar with the series would be very disappointed. Also certain stupid plot points from the original, like Baltar giving the escaped 6 an atomic bomb is never explained any more. Captain Adama gave Baltar the bomb ostensibly for the Cylon Detector then just forgot about it? Well at best it is a mediocre fan movie that has no punch outside the tribe It was said this was to fill the gap before the series Caprica came out. Well, I will say that this movie was better than all of Caprica together, so they should have put more effort into this movie and scrapped Caprica.

The Plan is in my opinion better than what some of the other reviews give credit. I can state that it's really not something to watch if you haven't seen, and like the series – you won't know the anything about the story already told, characters, history, events, etc and have no right to review. It's rich if you've seen the series, but easy to misunderstand and underestimate the relevance of its entire content if you haven't. It's clear it's about the plan of two particular Cylon brothers of the same model both (Cavel). How good is it? Well, put it this way, I give the series a 10, and The Plan adds more relevant facts, story, footage, and entertainment to the series; I give it a 10 as well. Make no mistake; it's not poorly done, or something just thrown together after the series just as quick extension. Understand its part of the series original story, filmed right along with it, just packaged separately to be released in a proper time line. Perhaps it depends on one's love for the series first, and one's perception of the intent of The Plan episode; as well as one's expectations and like of the combination of Sci Fi Drama. It's entertaining of course, it reveals things intentionally left out of the series for us to wonder about, it may answer questions one about different aspects of the series and characters – I had a lot of , "oh I see", "oh yea I remember when that happened", "oh that's why/how" moments. The Plan includes footage of the Cylon attack on the colonies and Colonial Fleet not featured in the series. As Bear McCreary's Battlestar Galactica Orchestra's music –"Apocalypse" score really sets the scene; ever wonder what went on inside those Cylon base ships before and during the attack of the colonies? What was the Hybrid prophesying right before and during the attack? How did the colonial fleet get decimated by the Cylon virus at the time of attack? The Episode is very Cylon character based more so than in the series, and it's an inside look at way to much to miss. Despite reviews, watching The Plan should defiantly be part of the BSG adventure after finishing the series because there great additional story content, and footage that adds to the series as a whole. My opinion is that you'll be missing some very relevant content and entertainment if you don't watch it - regardless of how you grade it (it's relevant to the series and brings too much to the table to miss.http://battlestarfanclub.com/video/battlestar-galactica-the-plan-the- cylons-of-the-plan

The synopsis given by "official" sources says that this movie reveals the Cylons' Plans from before the attack on the colonies up through the end of Season 2.This review will be extremely short, as talking about much of it at all would be spoiling both the movie and the series. The movie basically follows 'Number 1,' both the one on Caprica and the one in the fleet, and how they change throughout the course of the series. Unfortunately, it only covers up through season 2, so this so called "Plan" was boiled down to simply kill all humans. Nothing the audience of BSG didn't already know, right? The movie was okay, but it ended up feeling like a long string of deleted scenes from the series. If you have seen the whole series, then it is a must-see, even if there is nothing new.Taken as a standalone movie, it is easily a 1/10. However, there is NO WAY someone who has not seen the entire series of BSG should even consider watching this. It doesn't introduce anything new really, but it is a decent addition/companion to the series that all hardcore fans need to see.

I loved the new BSG, I think it is one of the best TV shows ever made. I was expecting this to contribute something new and was disappointed. Don't expect a plot, and don't expect any significant revelations. Certainly don't expect it to live up to the hype of "telling the story of two powerful Cylon leaders", or telling the story "from the point of view of all the Cylons". That's just rubbish.Over the last 10 or so episodes of BSG, we saw a few episodes which involved reviewing events to give us a reminder of what had gone before, and to put things into a new perspective by revealing more background of key characters in days leading up to the attack on the colonies, or more information on the role they played afterwards.Essentially, that is all "The Plan" is. I'm convinced it was something which was probably intended to be part of season 4 but for some reason was omitted. It centres around Brother Cavil and reveals that he had more influence over events on Galactica than we were previously aware of, and likewise his counterpart on occupied Caprica did the same. That, in a nutshell, is it. Most of the other Cylons barely get a look-in.Oh, and as for the Cylons' "Plan", don't expect to learn all about that, unless "the plan" was finding ways to mop up because the original attack didn't wipe all the humans out.To be honest I don't feel my BSG experience was lacking by not seeing this as part of Season 4. I say this because now, having seen it, I feel it contributes little, if anything, to the show. At times it feels like a series of out-takes edited together and nothing more. I've watched it once and now I'm going to sell it, that's how much it matters.
