I love B-movies! And I have been looking forward to this for a while! When it came out it was so much fun to watch with friends! The reviews I have been seeing occasionally are unfair and the reviewer completely miss the point of the movie! When I went to watch this film I expect purposefully awful camerawork, horrid editing, and non existed acting. This movie lured me with a B-movie plot, and generic B-movie characters, but to my surprise it had nice editing, decent camerawork, and I fell in love with the actors characters. The Jokes were hilarious, and the special effects were laughable, but still did the job. This whole film was meant to be bad, but even then looked better than I imagined. My only issue was some of the raunchiness was so over the top at some times it kind of pulled me out of the film at times. But other than that and the occasional use of a fart joke. This was a gem I will not regret watching. Also I would have rated 7 however I am compensating for the unfair reviews. ;)
... View MoreNext time you're at a donut shop you may side-eye your next snack. Scott Wheeler's sci-fi horror comedy, Attack of the Killer Donuts is both frightening and ridiculously funny. From the very beginning, Wheeler has managed to captivate his audience's attention with his graphically intense intro and upbeat original theme song. He does a fantastic job at holding your attention hostage in the film with his use of ridiculous satirical humor, absurdist physical comedy, bloody action packed scenes and of course a dash of young love. Wheeler has managed to concoct the perfect ingredients for the recipe to a unique body of work in need of it's own genre. You DOnut want to miss out on this fun film, guaranteed to make you laugh!
... View MoreJust sit and enjoy, this really is a no-brainer. Don't mind the script because you can tell what is going to happen. Is that a problem, no not with this kind of flicks but for me the problem was that it wasn't funny at all.The donuts are funny in the way they came alive and even as it is CGI it did work out fine but there weren't any funny situations. It's all so cliché, coppers going for free donuts, the nerd having a sexy chick who makes love to others and he doesn't see it. Oh yes, and there's a lot of farting going on which for some will be hilarious, for me it's a bit too low to make it funny. But the effort to make a stupid flick about attacking donuts is well done. And it didn't had a really boring moment. No gore at all, a bit of red stuff here and there but if you watch this with a bunch of friends it will entertain you...Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 1,5/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5
... View MoreOK, so the special effects are complete crap. The movie has that B-Side smell to it, complete with kinda bad audio and editing. But- it was completely redeemable. It had a perfect mix of horror movie elements, the right amount of comedy, and a happy resolution at the end.Yes, the "killer donuts" were laughable. Yes, the acting was very immature. Yes, no fancy sets in this film, and the actors were probably all the director's high school friends. But I actually did enjoy it! The bad special effects were entertaining at least, the characters were exactly as they should be- hero, his lovable sidekick, the girl who pines over him, the snotty girlfriend, the quirky customers who come into the donut store, the overbearing donut store owner. It worked well. I'd like to see more from this director and whoever wrote the film- a true cult classic!
