This is one of the best comedies I´ve ever watched. Before watching it I didn´t know Will Forte but now I had to go and search for all his previous work because he is super talented! I binged watched the 4 season in a week and now I´m disappointed to know that the show has been cancelled when a final season was clearly needed. The character development was done perfectly and it is a shame that we wont be able to see the real ending of the story.

Positives first: 1. An ever changing sort of stand-up comedic humor with a variety of serious & funny situations to deal with. 2. Perhaps a not-too-far-off showing of how a half dozen or so individuals behave when they are suddenly free to interact, inhabit and consume what ever they find. Most events are funny, many are tragically funny, and some are just tragic. 3. Cast & acting & dialogue & props & sets surprisingly high quality for a tele series. Negatives: 1. No subtitles and in a movie that is dependent on dialogue (humor & jokes) that resource is absent. Fortunately, articulation and audio are good. 2. Excessive time is spent on confrontational and sexual humor - just gets boring w/so much else to realistically work on (especially since it's all about surviving). 3. Seems as if all of humanity (and most, if not all life) has just disappeared - could use a more intelligent explanation. A single or even a few viruses would be severely limited to the numbers of host species and environments, and they would have long enough transmission times for research to find a solution.

First off this is fictional entertainment so why are so many reviewers complaining about realism!! No one seems willing to give writers any leeway these days. "What, you are focussing on the story and interaction with the characters? Why when there are so many unanswered questions about the apocalypse!?" Ridiculous. Also it's a comedy for goodness sake! The writing is original and fresh and the main character is funny, pitiful, emotional and manipulative (when he is not failing to be manipulative coz he's so dumb). He reminds me of The Dude in the early scenes of the stone cold classic There Big Lebowski except Phil is way more self centred and highly strung. It's a show you can relax into and enjoy just for once don't take it so seriously!!
