I can see why people love this show, but it's a bit messy for my taste. I appreciate the characters and the writers' work, inventing new imaginative stories, but it's just not that funny to me. I simply prefer South Park, Family Guy or Rick and Morty over Futurama.

I have been watching Futurama ever since I was a little kid. Futurama is an animated comedy series created by David X. Cohen and Matt Groening. It stars Billy West as Philip J. Fry, Katey Sagal as Turanga Leela and John DiMaggio as Bender. Set in a thousand years in the future, the action mainly takes place in New New York. Fry is a pizza delivery boy, who accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999 and wakes up exactly a thousand years in the future. He finds a job in the Planet Express Corporation that transports packages all around the entire universe. Fry's co-workers are a clever, practical cyclops Turanga Leela and a tricky criminal robot named Bender. Together they repeatedly get into wacky adventures which, spiced with light- hearted comedy, will surely make even the most serious person laugh. One of Futurama's strengths is undoubtedly the flawed but likable characters. Although very different from each other, the Planet Express crew makes an amazing team. An unique charm is also added by each of the weird and humorous side characters. For example Dr Zoidberg, Amy Wong, Hermes Conrad or the mysterious cleaner Scruffy who sometimes just comes out of nowhere. The show is hilarious but sometimes also really moving. For example the thought-provoking story about Fry's dog or the story about the last box of anchovies which Fry agreed to share with his friends. However not every episode is suitable for children, which is said in the parent's guide on IMDb.com.

Alright. Since I can't (I mean I could if I had the time) go back and review each episode, I hope this review will do the series justice. Futurama is a show that has been discontinued a few times, many has always came back. The last time it was cancelled, it didn't come back. And this made people sad. But do not worry, because Matt Groening will always be pushing for a channel to pick it up again. Now let's talk about the show. Futurama is a fantastic show which can pull your heartstrings and do a 180 and can make you start crying of laughter. Thus is the magic of Futurama. The cast a characters never grows old (especially the professor) and each has their moments. The sound and music is good, and the theme is based on Psyché Rock by Pierre Henry. There is comedy, due to it being a comedic show, but some episodes (i.e Jurassic Bark, Luck of the Fryish) pull a sad or sentimental flip flop from the standard fare. The comedy may not appeal to some, but it fits my personality just fine. In the end, I give this goofy, lovable show a perfect score of 10/10.

This is the first adult cartoon I've consistently watched. Sure, I've seen a few episodes of "Family Guy" and "the Simpsons", but I never got into them, that and my parents wouldn't allow me to watch those. Now that I'm older, I decided to watch "Futurama" after hearing a ton of praise for the show. And it deserves every bit of it. The main purpose of shows like "South Park" and "Family Guy" is to make you laugh, "Futurama" does that but it also does so much more. This show makes you think about mortality, relationships, and religion. It can also makes you cry. Try watching "Jurassic Bark", "Luck of the Fryirsh", and "Lethal Inspection" without shedding a tear. I'm kind of sad the show got canceled yet again, because I've just recently started watching it, but at least it had the dignity to end. I'm looking' at you, "Simpsons". If you're old enough to watch adult cartoons (which if you're reading this, I assume you are), go check this show out, you won't regret it.
