I remember seeing Danny Aiello in an interview, he was so proud when he said "I never had an acting lesson!! ",I thought no kidding Sherlock that's obvious and not something to boast when you suck. Can you imagine a musician saying i never had a teacher or practice I just play?

I have watched this movie and the sequel several times and find it to be a well written and delivered movie. I truly enjoy watching this film each and every time I take it off the shelf. Jason Gedrick does an outstanding job as Cross as well as all the other actors. I feel this movie has many in-depth characters and each actor/actress does an excellent job of delivering their part. Unlike most movies, the sequel does take you beyond the first movie and is not just a boring remake of the first. I hope plans for a third are in the making as I look forward to seeing it. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a fantastic movie.

Mario Puzo (Godfather - Godfather..) also wrote The Last Don - great book and lousy movie..that's why I thought of it I guess.... the actress 'bankable star' is played by Darell Hanna in the movie, who does well with the role, and the guy who plays Pipi De Lena is good, but they really missed the mark with other vital characters ... other actors failing to capture themin my opinionBrilliant Performances:Danny Aiello .... Don Domenico Clericuzio Joe Mantegna .... Pippi De Lena Daryl Hannah .... Athena Aquitane vital characters that just did not feel right played by these people:Jason Gedrick .... Cross De Lena Penelope Ann Miller .... Nalene De Lena Rory Cochrane .... Dante Santadio you really have to read the book then see the movie to know what I'm saying

I thought this mini-series was very well done. Of course, it had it's slow and unbelieving moments but overall I enjoyed it immensely. The acting, overall, was good (kd lang and even the Don's reaction to things were a little off). I thought Kirstie Alley blew the other actors out of the water (then again, she had a lot more background to work with...and also, what a thing to go through, i am not surprised she went a little crazy). I think her acting was superb in this! I am looking forward to seeing the second part in the mini-series (whenever i can find the time to spare 4 hours...ha) But alas, it was a great mini-series and i recommend it. Besides you can buy both for around 6 or 7 bucks each (so it's worth buying over renting and then you don't have to sit for 4 hours at a time)!
