This show is beautifully shot, beautifully acted, Steve Buscemi gives the TV performance of his career in this. It's really well written. The supporting cast is also awesome with Michael Shannon standing out as a federal agent on the edge of madness. I can't see a single fault in this show other than the ending was way too truncated and came way too soon. The sets, costumes, absolutely everything was stunning in this show. A true masterpiece. Up there with Deadwood in my book.

Not always exactly accurate as this is fiction but fun and educational nonetheless.Several Comments<FAQ, and Factoids indicated that Andrew William Mellon was Sec'y Of state. HE WAS NOT.He was Sec'y of the Treasury through THREE Presidents and Ambassador to Great Britain through TWO Presidents. REMARKABLE & Remarkable MAn

As a lover of jazz of the 20's I really enjoyed Boardwalk Empire.I do not like hooligans and gangsters but You can not resist to like Nucky Thompson. .I really liked how it was staged and how authentic they have made it. But most of all I liked how well they had integrated the music and made this almost 100 year old jazz so full of life.

When I started the series I wasn't so excited because it was a little boring and had a lot of names I had to recall.But as I continued watching it it was becoming better(especially after episode 5).After that episode it was great watching it.Season 2 was thrilling since Jimmy vs Nucky was something we all liked to see.And as the series was on its peak suddenly at season's 2 finale comes the death of Jimmy.50% of the series was destroyed in 1 shot.However, I continued watching it but 3 episodes later I realized that after Jimmys death all action was gone.To sum up, if you think you are able not to sympathize with Jimmy you can watch that one.On season 3 some good characters also appear like Jeep(sorry for spelling if its wrong) who are far from boring and bad-ass. As far as the costumes are concerned they are very good and they depict 1920s.There is also a very nice approach to this period as every little detail is included in the show.It is very hard to find mistakes or not well explained scenes.Anyway, I think that killing Jimmy took away Boadwalk's Empire chance of becoming my favorite show.
