When you've settled...When you stop trying to lose that extra ten pounds... When you just can't find the time to trim your nose-hair... When the day comes that you actually laugh, enthusiastically, at television commercials...When you're too much of a bloated, lobotomized nitwit to maintain a personality or a social life, when your identity is the database in your thousand-hour DVR... boy have we got a show for you!The name of the show is "The Drew Carey Show" show. That's what the show is called, and it's funny! But only because it isn't. And if the last sentence made sense to you you're ready for the DVD's and/or re-runs that do for Office Life what Lewinsky did for Clinton.|CUE: Laugh Track]|See? You'll stop thinking logically and just groove to the LaughMaster, as it lays down rhythmic pulses of warm aural buzz. The cast was assembled by poisoning every actor in the Guild and rewarding the five that survived with long-term contracts. Drew Carey (often mistaken as a potato by hungry wolverines) is brimming with... what's that stuff that isn't talent?Avoid. Refuse. Shake your head and say no. I want you to be happy, and this won't make you happy, it will make you settle.I never want you to settle.GRADE: D

"THE DREW CAREY SHOW," in my opinion, is an absolute ABC classic! I haven't seen every episode, but I still enjoyed it. There are many episodes that I enjoyed. One of them was where Mimi (Kathy Kinney) married Steve (John Carroll Lynch). If you want to know why, you'll have to have seen it for yourself. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that everyone always gave a good performance, the production design was spectacular, the costumes were well-designed, and the writing was always very strong. In conclusion, even though it can be seen in syndication now, I strongly recommend you catch it just in case it goes off the air for good.

The above comment isn't really fair but you've gotta admit that among others, Drew Carey, Ray Romano or even Jerry Seinfeld aren't really people you should look up to. Nothing really works out for them either or if it does it is usually forgotten by next week where they are back to the "Nothing good happens to me or if it does something else happens that screws the whole thing up".The problem with this show is that Drew, the character, is too aware that things doesn't work out for him. He knows he is fat and the way to live with it is of course to make self-deprecating jokes and occasionally make a snide remark to his assistant Mimi, well played by Kathy Kinney.Of course, Drew has to have an attractive female friend, in this case the very hot Christa Miller, at least she was back then. But they could never be anymore than friends. His two male friends are also a couple of dimwits of course. I will say that Dietrich Bader (is that how you spell his name?) is somewhat of a favorite of mine ever since i heard his voice on the Simpsons playing a hillbilly sheriff. But for some reason he doesn't make a big impression here because there is too much focus on the other male friend, played by Ryan Stiles. Many people will probably write me hate mail if they read this but the live sitcom is a total waste of TV space today. And I am not just talking about American sitcoms either. Here in Denmark we have tried experimenting with sitcoms featuring well known Danish comedians, just like you do in the States. But for some reason you can't make a Danish version of an American invention. It has something to do with the Danish language, I think. We have to incorporate some English phrases to make it work and it is usually a four-letter word. Is that really great comedy? Of course not. So I will give American sitcoms some credit. Nobody can make them except Americans but they are not up to the standards of the 80's to early 90's sitcoms, where in my opinion the American sitcom had its prime. This was more of a diversion away from what I really think of "The Drew Carey Show". But what more can I say that I haven't already done on the Seinfeld, ELR or Ellen comments.

Do not get me wrong, I still absolutely love the Drew Carey show, but the new episodes suck. It is a good thing this show is going off the air, at least it goes out with dignity. The show used to be very funny, until Kelly comes into the show. Lets just call Kelly, the "Malaria" virus. But let us go onto the good things about the drew carey show. Oswald and Lewis, pure genius characters... one of my favorite characters on any show! Drew (in the early season) used to be hilarious, I love it when him and Mimi fight! As for Mimi, her dresses are just crazy, love the dresses, especially the wedding gown. I don't care much for Kate, but as for Steve, he used to be really funny when he was a cross-dresser. It is too bad that this show has gone to the dump, I would've liked it if the show had kept going like it was before 2002. Too bad...
