Im a huge fan of Sharlto Copley & Eddie Izzard... to the point where I will watch anything by them. This show has kind of altered this appreciation & enjoyment.I was not expecting Powers to be THIS cringe-worthy. Every sing episode: the dialogue was awful. Something out of a high school film project.Cheesy dialogue, awful acting, and amateurish editing (video & audio - all of season 2, there is heavy large-empty-hallway-type reverb on most conversations taking place outdoors - I thought it was was my download, but I rented the Bluray, and its the same), Lets not forget pointing out the over-exaggerated acting by Susan Heyward (her melodramatic " what the f*** " response to EVERYTHING, during almost all episodes), Adam Godley, Andrew Sensenig, and Eddie Izzard. The CGI is b-grade at best, including the cosplay costumes. However, if you're like me (a sci-fi / fantasy fanatic), you're still going to watch this, and enjoy it, even while being enveloped by cheese.
... View MoreWOW how can anyone give this marks over 5. A bunch of heroes with dreadful names, characterless characters, bad acting, awful plot, risible powers. This has obviously been written by a none too bright 14 year old and friends, who have somehow got it on TV and then been allowed to cast, script and direct it.
... View Moreits different okay in some ways the story line is good characters are a hit and miss mediocre in others i have to say i wish they would kill Deena off already shes a total B1tch to everyone everything. she seems to hate people with powers and has a bad attitude about everything. when Sgt.Tiberio was first introduced in the show (as a disabled veteran) Deena offensively asks "what is that" who would say something so offensive to a handicap vet who fought wars so how can such an ignorant intolerant character be considered a supposed "good cop" in this show I'm not sure why no one has spoken out about her. bottom line i would give this show an 8 if she were killed off already.
... View MoreI had to write a review here, after reading all the reviews of this series. Everybody is suddenly an expert on all things, acting, scripts, etcetera. I am a viewer and i enjoy things from that perspective. This series has promise, i like the way they look at superheroes or powered people. I've seen heroes and all the other superhero series, but this an unique view on the genre. In the reviews of American based viewers they speak of cursing and saying the F word, i don't mind this, but in other countries we think differently. So that's no problem for me. I watched the first season and liked it a lot. Now watching the second season and it's getting better each episode. And hey, just don't read reviews too much. Judge for your self.
