From all the shows with people that have powers, this one was the 2nd best, after Heroes, in my opinion. I enjoyed this show a lot, but Susan Heyward (Deena Pilgrim)really made it difficult for me to watch it. I mean I know every show has a hysterical annoying woman, but this time I hated every second of every scene that had her in it. Even the actress has that annoying face you'd wish to punch all day. Her attitude, always negatively replying to anything anyone said to her, combined with her stupid look on her face, created the most annoying person I've ever seen. And some positive thoughts, I first saw Sharlto Copley (Christian Walker) in District 9 - great movie, then Chappie and I think he really is a really good actor. Anyway, nice show, hope Sony will attempt more episodes sometime.

I had a hard time getting into this show, it started a little slow, and seemed a little low-budget for my taste. I like that it's not all laid out for us though, it makes you wonder, makes you think.I am pretty sure we still don't really know much about what Diamond's powers were, other than he could at one point, fly. Season 1 got better and better as it went, and the tiny little Russian (30 year old) beauty kept me pretty interested, and continues to. I dare say I'd climb a mile over broken glass to get near her. Season 2, as with many series' these days, got the introduction of Boobs, which is always a plus for me, because sex is for most of us, a primary motivator. The near constant expletives make the show more real as well. We all f**king swear, usually far too much, but that's life.As with most shows, the fewer mainstream stars, the better. I find it hard to believe in shows that use actors that I saw an hour ago on CSI or the like. I wish more shows would diversify and use new blood more, it's tiring to see the same old faces all the time. That said, it was great to see Michelle Forbes again, even without her mole.

With the first episode of Powers I wasn't really sure what to think. It was good, but it seemed fairly obvious that the budget probably wasn't all that big and it has a different direction than the other superhero TV shows, yet I couldn't put my finger on it until about the third episode when it really take offs into being one of the best, if not the best of the superhero shows. First is that it's a real ongoing story, and it's solid, where everything that happens actually matters. People die, characters have both good and evil aspects, and everyone has a real back story that affects the big picture. BUT what probably works better than anything else in Powers is that the characters have complex relationships with each other that seem fairly realistic, or at least genuine in their motivations towards each other with invested interests so that the action carries a lot of weight. Show like Gotham, Arrow, and even Daredevil don't reach this level of effectiveness in their characterization. One thing I would note is that this probably isn't for kids. There are a lot of F bombs, and though it doesn't really have sex, there are a few discussion about people using sex as a way to get what they want. Just FYI.

Powers is a show made by Brain Micheal Bendis based on one of his comic books that he had made himself. However strangely it is known that it does not follow the story that it is trying to tell in that comic very faithfully at all. Which is weird. That being said it is still a decent show overall. It had a good pilot episode and it grew as it went on. Though the story does waver at some points it did a fine job, but it does have some rough patches it can hopefully make up for in season 2. The child actors in this show are just bad! No really aside from Logan Browning everyone else sucks hard!Olesya Rulin sucked. I mean she was god awful in this. When she wasn't talking and just doing facial expressions they were horrible and when she talked she acted like she was lost the entire time. I mean seriously poor. Noah Taylor as Johnny Royale is one cheesy comic book villain, and he isn't even really that bad. His acting I didn't hate, but I wish his character wouldn't talk like he was some smoke addict. Susan Hayward is a good actress in this. While the character of Pilgrim isn't very compelling she is on screen. I liked her playing this character overall. She was decent here. Michelle Forbes is awesome!! I mean she really holds her own here. In fact most of the adult actors in the film do a good job here. Her character and relationship with Christian is so compelling as well. I really liked it a lot. Eddie Izard isn't too bad here either. His character starts off pretty one dimensional at first, but as the story goes on his acting ability also begins to shine in more and more and it is quite interesting to see when it does. Sharleto Copley is the best actor in this show without a doubt and his character is compelling, and it pulls you in and make you want more as well. Good job!!
