Only Millennium was a worse series. This series has some very interesting things happen. The characters a good. The actors are good. The series builds very well until the end of episode 12. Then the writer's obviously did not know how to end it. At the end of that episode they have a car crash that makes no sense whatsoever. In episode 13 the the characters wander around in different places of the world, again making so sense on how they got to wherever they are at. Then they are all back in hotel like they started. Absolutely horrible that the writer's had no concept for an ending. If you watch it, you will be let down in the end.
... View MoreI was hoping that every second was so violently shaky cam as to be unwatchable. Because seemingly shaky cam not only will never die it's only going to get worse. So why not? It's as good a substitute for writing and direction as anything. In fact TV could open up a whole industry for people with Parkinson's or CP. Just strap some cameras on the spastics and go to town. Now as to the show it's standard TV fare of the confusing plot less slow moving barely written down fake suspense that trolls the audience genre. Lost, in other words. Shows like Lost Persons Unknown rely on an audience that sees the show more like a reality show where everyone talks trash to each other, or cries hysterically. And we're supposed to hate or root for different characters; Team Hotchick, Team Douchebag and so on. Which if you think about it makes most of the criticisms about terrible writing, bad direction, hacknied dialog, improbable plots, off the mark. Because while that's all true are besides the point. All that matters is the stupid factor. In that Persons Unknown is genius.
... View MoreI loved the series I wish they had finished it! They escaped and caught but I wanted to know what happened after that. It was great and different. It was great it is much better than a lot of the shows that are currently running. Why do a few select people always dictate what others watch I really enjoyed it and watch it on Netflix. I know these are old post but please bring it back and finish it. I hate when you like a show and then you wait years for either an ending or none. PERSONS UNKNOWN WAS AN EXCELLENT SHOW! There are people who loved the show. I'm so tired of alien shows or zombies. Please consider bringing the show back! I'm not the only one who thinks the show was great. It is far better than that stupid show lost where they were stranded and weird things happened and the show Lost you and the fat guy got fatter lol. Where did he get his food. Bring back persons UNKNOWN.
... View MoreMy Review of "Persons Unknown"This mini-series was created by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), and it entertained me throughout last year's summer. Because of the limited promotion, I had to stumble on "Persons Unknown" by sheer luck. The reason why the studio did not have faith in this show -- with its large potential -- beats me.In the pilot episode, written by McQuarrie, we are introduced to the captives and the place they are held in. Right away, questions arise on why they were taken, and by whom they were taken. Aside from the captives' storyline, there is also a subplot of a reporter, who's investigative eye falls on these mysterious disappearances. This episode neatly lays the groundwork on which this series is built upon. Every captive seemingly has a specific reason for being held; they try to deduce what the motive of the captors is by figuring out where each of them came from.Suspenseful moments are to be expected when the captives try to escape the place they are being held in, when their lives are threatened, and when they start to crack under pressure. For those who like to be surprised until the end, this is your show. The amount of mystery is enormous, and will often catch you off-guard.The main thing I liked was how the main characters reacted in certain situations; mainly, the wariness they showed towards each other, and the questions they asked themselves.I watched this mini-series in its original run, so I had to wait a full week to get a new episode; I'm sure once you start watching now, you won't be able to stop watching until you've seen them all.As for the ending, it was a bit of a let-down; actually, a major let-down. On itself – in the scenario that the show would return for subsequent seasons -- it was a great finale, but as a series finale it just failed. We were promised to get answers to all the major questions by summer's end, yet the finale did not follow through on that statement. They left us hanging with so many questions -- a real shame. So much wasted potential, so much frustration. If you ask me, they could have ended this story with the preceding episode; this episode would have provided more closure, however the burning questions would still remain. If it were up to me, I would bring back "Persons Unknown" for another season. Then we could see a proper conclusion to a great storyline. The finale provides a good starting point for that matter. There is still much to explore for the writers, so I'd say bring back "Persons Unknown." Taking everything into account, I am going to give "Persons Unknown" an 8 out of 10.
