In news : Fox might finally get around to cancel Wayward Pines Why
... View MoreM. Night Shyamalan does his thing as expected and the first two episode are amazing and full of suspense and thrills. If this show only had one season then i would give it a solid 8, maybe even 9. However due to the existence of season 2, I can only give it 6 stars. This being said if you liked Twin Peaks, The 6th Sense and Mystery suspense thrillers in general then I strongly recommend to watch the first couple of episode, hell even the first season, but don't, I mean don't even think about watching season 2.

... View MoreYou may wonder why I give this show a 10. I first noticed this show as it started turning up in second hand stores. I assumed, from the blurb and the sleeve graphics, that it was some sort of whole town Fargo thing, perhaps even a black comedy or satire on things like The Wicker Man or The Stepford Wives. Whilst those comparisons hold a little water, it's not the way to describe this show. Long story short one of my favorite video hire stores closed down and I bought Waywood Pines Series One up with numerous other titles from what was left on the shelves, a day into a final fire sale. And was greatly surprised and impressed. Credit where credit is due. The characters portrayed here are original. My mind tries to tell me the hero is a gruff no nonsense policeman, his instincts leading him to the next clue, but that would be understating this originality. A few episodes in and you realize its not a horror show but far sighted science fiction. I understand why that couldn't be on the blurb, and respect the producers whom took a leap of faith with the public that interest would remain until the gravitational revelations take hold. And this is where the show shines, because the science is, well, without spoiling things, a pummeling shift. It goes from being fascinating to a huge sit-up and notice set of moments. I was glued! To give a movie comparison here really would be a spoiler, so I won't go that far.All the characters are original, though at first most do seem familiar, but then the plot throws a curve ball, and all and sundry are then seen in a new light. The town is a unique setting, the production good and the actors doing it all justice. And there are some very good actors in this show. Matt Dillon began his career in some amazingly atmospheric thrillers. This won't disappoint. For me this is must viewing for science fiction fans. I've just purchased the second season, and I can't wait to watch it.
