Mike and Molly are two members of 'Overeaters Anonymous' who met, dated and fell in love. Mike is a police officer and Molly is a fourth grade teacher and the show centres around their families and work lives.Mike's family consists of his battle axe of a mother who loves her boy and resents having to share Mike's affections with Molly. Molly's family are her alcoholic mother and drugged up sister. Despite the negative connotations of those labels, they are lovely people but Molly has to be the adult in the family. We also get to meet and enjoy Mike's partner's family (Carl and his Nana). Nana both adores Carl but is cuttingly harsh with him too and had me in hysterics every time she appeared. The stories are light and generally with an emotional touch included. The families, jobs and general situations are enjoyable to watch and give you another glimpse into the lives of this lovely couple.I'll warn you (spoiler alert) that Season 4 starts with Molly deciding to quit teaching to become a writer and her personality goes of on a tangent for 5 or 6 episodes. Combine this with the new (and not as good) opening credit sequence and you start to feel that there have been too many executive changes and they have spoilt a winning formula to gain a few digits in viewing figures. (This strategy almost always fails, why they do it I have no idea!) My advice is to stick with it, the Molly we all know and love will come back although there are plenty of 'stupid moments' that seem to be a forced change to Molly's personality. Not a disaster but a touch annoying. To finish, I will say I was disappointed to learn the show was cancelled but I'll advise you to keep watching because there is an ending of sorts. I won't spoil it but it's both a great place to leave them but also leaves you wanting more. I clicked the show off after the last episode (Watch for Chuck Lorre's story card at the end for a nice message) and felt a sadness in my heart knowing I laughed, I cried (well, nearly) and that there are no more Mike and Molly episodes to enjoy.Watch it, if you're not hooked on a show with real people having real lives after 6 episodes, you never will be!

I really really liked this show when it started. It was about two people falling in love, who are happen to be fat, but most of all just your average human beings, with insecurities about life and how to live it. It was great to watch these characters clumsiness and struggles through funny but still somewhat believable situations. I remember watching the ending of the 3rd season (I think it was the 3rd, right before the new Mike & Molly), when Molly told Mike she was pregnant. I couldn't wait for the new season, so before the new season started, I binge watched the whole first 3 seasons, and then came the surprise, at the end Molly's pregnancy bomb was not there - it turned out, it wasn't even aired in the US, it was only in the first Canadian version, which I saw. And then started this whole "new" thing which is exactly the opposite of the earlier seasons. The characters are unbearable and not a slightly bit lovable. I just stopped watching after a few episodes. Came back for a few glimpses, but nah. I wish they would went with the pregnancy and starting a family line, that would have been so great. Seriously can't understand why they choose this path. So the first few seasons are a 8 or maybe even 9 for me, the latter are 1 or 2.

Before I start this review, I may let you guys know that this review might contain a few spoiler alerts, viewer discretion is advised.Mike & Molly is an American sitcom starring Billy Gardell & Melissa McCarthy. It first debuted in fall of 2010 on CBS. The basic plot of this is about a police officer Mike (Billy Gardell) and a elementary school teacher Molly (Melissa McCarthy) have met each other one time at a local coffee shop, then as the show progresses, two of them are actually trying to get together as a happy couple. Now let's see if I would recommend this show or not. Pros: - Good concept & presentation - Well-developed characters Cons: - Bad acting - Bad writing - Horrible humor - Unnecessary laugh track Overall, I'll give this show a big fat 3 out of 10 (Bad/Not Very Enjoyable). Too bad, this show has a nice potential, but in the end of the day, it became a boring & tedious show. If you want a good modern sitcom, try watching The Big Bang Theory, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or Mom. Do not watch Mike & Molly unless you're a big fan of Melissa McCarthy.

I love this show!!! I just 'binged watched' almost all of the 5 seasons and thought it was great. Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell have amazing chemistry and the entire cast have developed into great characters over the years, each in their own way. Melissa is just so lovable and hilarious with all her different expressions... She's just a great physical comedian! I also think that many issues that come up, are very relatable to the general public. My favorite is how Molly gave up all the security that came with her teaching career, in order to follow her dream of being a writer. Now that is inspirational! Granted, there has been a few inconsistencies in the show's story lines, but overall, it's just been a real pleasure to watch. Hope to see many more seasons!!!
