Ever since this went on the air three years ago, at first, I thought it sounded like a cute but interesting premise: a 13-year-old who lands a job as a sidekick to a bumbling, inept superhero crime- fighter who fumbles in spite of all his best intentions. But unfortunately, after seeing over a dozen episodes (yes, that's right), I haven't at all found any of them to be funny, amusing, or even remotely entertaining. In fact, just the opposite: just a cheesy, shallow, over-the-top no-brainer that has gone nowhere, where all the other superhero shows before it, has already sunk so low like anybody wouldn't believe, while leaving a huge mark on its young audience. Here's why:1.) When Henry gets hired in Junk-and-Stuff (which sounds like an obvious nod to the Sid and Marty Krofft kids' show Mutt and Stuff currently on Nickelodeon right now), he meets his boss Ray, only to find out he's Captain Man, Swellview's Number One hotshot superhero crime-fighter. (Just what kind of a name is that for a superhero anyway????) He then lands another part-time job, only as sidekick Kid Danger to the Captain, which comes with a bonus: $10 an hour. OMG, come on. As the show progresses, we see the Captain and Kid Danger entertain at kids' birthday parties, giving contest prize giveaways/tours of the Man-Cave, and fooling and messing around all types of stupid off-the-wall gadgetry. Oh, please. Most other superhero TV shows and/or movies show their main characters going over and beyond the call of duty, doing what they're SUPPOSED to be doing, not lose themselves in any silly perks or any stupid fringe benefits that come with their public image. Not only does it bear a strong resemblance to the 1960's Batman, it also does have the same tone, and the same look of another show the Kroffts did in the 1970's called ElectraWoman and DynaGirl, in which they just a measly seven episodes. However, at the same time, it was more of an action- adventure show, in which if anybody out there ever saw it, those two ladies really were ALL action, all business, and also had MUCH MORE ON THE BALL THAN YOU WOULD EVER EVEN EXPECT, HANDS DOWN, NOT ENJOYING ALL THE SILLY PERKS THAT COME WITH SUPERHERO CRIME- FIGHTING. SERIOUSLY, NO QUESTION. Just because it has the same tone, the same look, doesn't at all mean it's on the same level. In fact, far from it. So leave it to Dan Schneider, himself a 1970s child born in 1966, to twist the memories of us old-school fanboys and then condone it for cheap laughs. Ha. Nice.2.) Henry's parents are already totally unaware of the double life that he's leading, so correct me if I'm wrong, isn't there a federal law which mandates that anybody over the age of 16, who takes on a part-time job, but should do so with the full consent of his/her parents, that they ought to be fully aware of what kind of line of work he/she is in, or in Henry's case, his TWO part-time jobs? (Or never mind if Captain Man breaks the law in this particular case for that matter, right?)3.) I seem to remember reading from WIZARD magazine when the Dark Knight movie came out ten years ago, director Christopher Nolan has said he intentionally left out Batman's sidekick Robin, only because to Nolan, wherever Robin is involved, it raises up the "camp level" using the 1960's Batman and all the cartoon versions after that as examples. Gee, I really didn't think that came with a hitch in the last and final season of the Superfriends cartoon, nor in the 1990's Batman cartoon, which showed Robin, as Dick Grayson, away at college. In fact, a lot of it in both the cartoon versions actually were VERY sharp and well-written, with plenty of thrills and action (to boot). So, my point? Never mind if you're proving Christopher Nolan right, Dan Schneider, if he gets the last laugh. Being one of the top sci-fi directors in the film industry, he just gets to have his way anyway regardless, just by leaving out any kids, or any goofy sidekicks for that matter. But to me, this is only just Batman or ElectraWoman, only being re-done as Full House or the Teen Titans cartoon. Again, real nice, Mr. Schneider.4.) And Henry's annoying little sister Piper? Even though she might a bad role model for kids everywhere, she's the least of my worries. I would say Ray/Captain Man and his goofy narcissism is much, much, MUCH worse. Besides, I've gotten tons more laughs watching Powderpuff Girls, the Disney superhero high school comedy Sky High, and Kim Possible. Real, genuine superhero comedies/cartoons with plenty of heart and laughs. But Henry Danger? No way, forget it.

Normally, I'd watch Dan Schneider's work and find amusement in some of it. As with anyone who had heard his name over the years, you think back to iCarly or even Drake & Josh(arguably some of his best work, though I'm not a fan of iCarly). Yeah, Schneider knew little of technology and pop culture at times and just had the actors randomly tapping on keyboards to look like they were using a computer(even if they were simply watching a video and didn't really need to type much of anything), but there was a charm to these shows that showed that while they were limited in some categories, Dan didn't let it stop him from creating hit shows.I see none of that here....Here we have another sitcom superhero show(as if the Thundermans wasn't bad enough), where a boy in a town called "Swellview" works for a superhero whose only power is that he is immune to getting hurt. Okay...it's generic and borderline stupid, but that isn't what bugs me. The acting is one of it's weak-points in the show for me. Yeah the setting is utter crap and doesn't connect in any way to the universe of Dan's previous works, but the acting...is atrocious.First off, Jace Norman is...decent...for the most part. He'll probably be a child actor everyone will forget in two to three years unless Nickelodeon chooses to shoehorn him into more stuff. For the most part, I find him duller than dish water as Henry Hart. The family Henry has probably irritates me the most to see on-screen for the most part, but it's like family guy where you'll rarely ever have an episode with just Brian and Stewie with the rest of the family not appearing in any way. Basically you have two absentee parents who do little to control their children unless they are forced to act like parents for the sake of the plot, and nothing more. Other than that, the little sister is a poor representation/role model of children in today's era. Essentially, Henry's sister shows that you can get what you want if you physically assault other people and scream at levels that most normal neighbors would call the police for. She's a character that holds no substance like the parents and could actually be written off the show without drastic changes(they could say Piper got sent to a school to learn the obedience her parents failed to teach). The rest of the cast is essentially cardboard and I could care less about anyone, including Perm-kid and his weird fetish for...buckets.Also, if you're writing a superhero show, quit focusing on the character's everyday life in a show where his job makes his routines more interesting. No one wants to see Henry make unfunny jabs at his perm-friend while the film crew struggles to figure out how to fix the laugh track button(it apparently seems to be jammed since it goes off too much). Most hero shows render the everyday lives of the heroes as a side-plot, which ends up resolved and if possible, teaching the character a lesson. Here, half of Swellview could get decapitated on a live stream and Henry wouldn't have learned a thing other than the fact that Captain man creepily lets unsupervised kids into his hero lair.I'm not arguing that this show be cancelled, but I think that the writers should re-evaluate their scripts before filming an episode. Therefore, I give this show a 3 out of 10 simply as a glimmer of hope.

Dan Scneider back at it again with another terrible sitcom. This show is TRASH!!!Jace Norman is a terrible actor and has one the most punch-able faces on T.V. He is not cute at all either. Bug eyes and stupid ugly faces.Charlotte is boring and completely unfunny. Riele Downs has the most annoying voice ever. Who choose this actress. She sucks.Jasper is extremely annoying and useless. He is also the butt monkey of the show and is abused by Henry's little sister. Charlotte and Henry, and Jasper are supposed to best friends, but they don't act like it. They act they don't want to be around Jasper, and Jasper and Piper act more like brother and sister than Henry does with her.Piper is one of the worst characters I've ever seen. She's a rude and obnoxious spoiled brat. She adds nothing to the show and is a pointless character. Why does Ella Anderson scream all her lines. Ugh.... No redeeming qualities at all. The parents are basically never around, but when they are they're boring. The dad is also a butt monkey and gets treated terribly. The mom is hot...and that's it. They also let Piper get away with murder and boss them around.Captain Man is lame and not funny. Schwoz looks like a pedophile creep. Oliver and Sydney are useless characters.Poor pacing, lame jokes, unlikable and annoying characters, zero character development, bad writing, horrible acting, stupid plots/story lines. Who at Nickelodeon greenlits this garbage??? People actually like this crap?? Don't let your kids watch this trash and lose brain cells! I'm so glad I grew up with 90's Nickelodeon.

First of all Jace Norman is the worst actor I have ever seen on Nickelodeon. He is so annoying and makes me mad anytime he starts acting . They all treat kid danger's "best friend " jasper bad . Captain Man doesn't like him , kid Danger's dad doesn't like him in fact No one likes him . They show little care when he gets injured .Henry claims he is his best friend meanwhile he never acts as such. Dan Schneider's pen for writing good shows ink got finished when drake and Josh went off the air . All the actors in this show are just awful .Piper the little brat who is disrespectful to everyone including her parents is a bad example for kid's watching . Captain Man instead of accepting the fact that Henry's mom is married he doesn't but always tries to hit in her ..Worst hero ever . Henry's feels good catchphrase is just lame . I don't want to waste my time typing on this piece of crap of a show ...Don't watch it please
