***kindasortapossiblyifyoustretchyourimagination spoilers ahead***Golan is enjoyable. Killer Narwhals are enjoyable. Having both in the same series is doubly enjoyable.I would have thought Canadians would get killer narwhals since they're both citizens of the cold north.Golan should be put on another network since it was quite enjoyable.
... View MoreThis show was funny and needs to come back. So many people have wrote negative reviews about this show which I don't agree with. Yeah, it is a little different and it is a little twisted but that is what makes the show not only good but unique. People need not to judge so fast. Look at the show Family Guy, it aired, people judged, they stopped airing the show, and then years later it aired again and is now on it's 14th season with very high ratings. Golan could have done the same thing if people weren't so quick to judge and just opened their minds a little. I know that I am disappointed and sad that this show wasn't given a chance and I will miss watching it. Bring Golan Back!!!!!!!!! **AZJETSFAN**
... View MoreThe description of this show states that "Buffoonery ensues" from the premise for this show. Well, I don't know that I would call any of this "buffoonery".The animation quality isn't all that great, but then neither is South Park. But South Park has better writers, and some hilarious situations. Golan is lucky to give you a laugh an episode. "Funny" is not the same as "absurd".Golan also seems to be a bit schizophrenic about its style. There are a lot of bodily-function references, some leering at women, and a general contempt for the family that, for some reason, puts up with this "visitor". But it has relatively mild language, perhaps in the hope that it will be suitable for family viewing. Somehow, I don't think it is going to be a major threat to "The Simpsons" in that department.Sorry, Golan, but you should go back to that alternate universe from whence you came -- and don't let the door hit you on your ample backside on the way out.
... View MoreAt first glance Golan the insatiable looks like the sort of show filled with profanity and cheap humor. As a result I was reluctant to give it a try, however i am certainly glad I did. The structure of the show itself is pretty simple, it follows the misadventures of Golan, a brutal god- lord and dark ruler from another realm, and his best friend/ squire of sorts, Dylan, a 9 year old goth girl. Though Golan may be an evil dark lord, he is primarily concerned with his young companion and the dynamic between the two of them is really quite charming. Though the show contains its fair share of crude humor, the show itself is actually pretty smart. Situational Irony combined with both dark humor and subtle plot themes make the show really quite amusing. The most impressive aspect of this show is how it manages to be both dark and silly. Going in with an open mind, this is a show that most anybody would enjoy.
