I absolutely LOVED this show, I have been waiting patiently for the series to be released on DVD...it is definitely a must own for anyone who enjoys the genre. Creepy, fun and fantastical....It was a great show, I didn't miss one episode. It would have been great to have more of it but it was sweet to have it while we did....can you think of any other shows that were of that ilk before or since??PS: If you, who decide what to release on DVD, could answer one question....why, if you feel justified putting ALF in disc, why not this show? I mean, ALF? Really? Come ON!

It's a shame that so many series, both American and British, are not available on DVD yet. This series was usually pretty interesting and only began to go downhill when LeMay left. The cinematography was pretty weak, but it fit in perfectly with the tongue-in-cheek made-on-the-fly attitude that all the actors exhibited. The writing was not bad and the stories were fairly imaginative...you never get the sense that they were mining old TZ episodes like writers do nowadays. The special effects were also pretty hokey, but decent for a TV show of that era.Unlike many shows from the 70s and 80s, you don't really get a chance to see any up-and-coming stars, so don't expect to see Demi Moore in a guest role. The actors and actresses are strictly B-list, but they do a good job and are cast well.As for the low budgets...they probably contributed to the show's success in that the costume people apparently couldn't afford any bras for (Louise) Robey, the female lead. She bounces through every episode in a manner that was pretty unusual for the 80s, but has become more commonplace in the last ten years.Worth checking out, but I'd advise watching no more than two or three episodes at a time. Fortunately, the Chiller Channel has been broadcasting the episodes and, except for the commercials, they appear to be in excellent shape.

This show is about two cousins, and an older friend, trying to reclaim cursed objects sold from an antique store by their deceased uncle. He had made a deal with the devil. Each episode is about a different object that does something great for the user, but with a terrible price that must be paid. It has a lot of appearances by actors also used on The War of the Worlds The Series. Actually, I think if you combined War of the Worlds the Series, and Friday the thirteenth the Series, you would get something very much like The X-Files. Bottom line,it's a wonderful show. I wish there were more than 72 episodes. I am a dedicated horror fan, and some of these episodes are truly creepy. They are also good for nostalgia. No online surfing for information. I love it.
