This show would still be going if the first episode was produced in the same manner as the other 9, two slow two sad too hook the audience in the pilot ! But mad props with the rest of the season , wish there could be more !

I've watched every episode so far. I like D. Schwimmer and J. Sturgiss as actors. What is with the fathers assistant? Does she ever speak and/or have another outfit. How many times can Schwimmer get dumped on in this show before he shows emotion. Too many predictable scripts. Obviously Sturgiss is the "Beast". But, what else can happen in this show in order to move it forward for another season. A guy who pulls teeth? Come on, how corny. When are going to find out the manager is pregnant from Dion? I'm expecting it to happen. I'm hoping the rest of the season is better. I just want to see where it could possibly go. Will the son ever speak? I don't feel enough background depth between the two main characters. So what happens the restaurant is successful, then what do we have to worry about? Not enough I think. Added: 29 Jul, 2016: I was pleasantly surprised by some scenes in the last episode. Maybe they rewrote the last 2 shows, after reading reviews. I still would like to see more, please smile Schwimmer. Sturgiss your overacting! You both can do better.September 6, 2016:It's been a while since the season ended. I was surprised by the final show. Wow, blowing up the restaurant! Was Dion's money blown up, hmmm probably because it would be predictable. Just a note; Dion was hiding his coke then money in the couch cushion. Didn't anyone notice that the filling had changed or the fact that he cut out the foam when it was empty. I think I would have noticed that sitting on the couch. Are they still hacked into the city gas supply? OK, so we are left with a blown up restaurant. Did the manager screw up and not get insurance?...Probably! We are left with the possibility of everyone being blown up, you know that won't happen, because they are the main characters! I wonder who opened the gas line. Possibly someone from the robbery that Dion and his uncle did, that's my guess. And, finally the son speaks, just at the wrong time. Will he go back to silence now? My prediction; the son will get hurt the most from the explosion. That will give Schwimmer more reason to mope around! My final prediction; eventually Schwimmer will donate a kidney to his dad and at the same time find out his son is from Sturgiss...

***SPOILER***This was a great idea. I looked forward to seeing David S in a good dramatic role. The first few episodes were tough because it was pretty formula stuff with nothing new to offer aside from the premise. The organized crime and drugs is unnecessary and leaves little room for an interesting new drama around the struggle to open a restaurant in an unlikely neighborhood. It's so unrelentingly tragic and sad that it is very hard to watch. But I hoped that once the restaurant opened we'd be given a break and some lighter, happier moments. Except I can't get that far. Here's where you lost me completely - the sex between Dion and Pilar. He has been a complete ass to her, treated her with no respect. She calls him on his FRAUD and he tries to kiss her? When she slapped him hard I was glad to show that a woman can handle sexual harassment in the workplace in her own, albeit violent, way. Then she has sex with him? Forget it. I'd love for you to find a way to fix this. It will start with a new writing staff. Sorry, but it's just too unbearably dreary and unoriginal to love.

I guess I kept watching, believing that it might get better....but no, each week another 60 minutes go by that I will never get back. A mute kid that's not spoken since his mum died, a racist gran-dad hard-nut who owns half the restaurant to be, the best thing about this is Luther from The Warriors, and the psycho "dentist". You get a couple of blokes dribbling over fantastic meals they want to make, and a couple of expensive wines. One slightly strung out chef owes some bad boys $600k, and a wine guy. unfortunately, David Schwimmer can only play Ross, he does it here, and he done it in Band of Brothers. its a really sad excuse for a show!
