This show is actually good and has some powerful messages for its viewers. It is up to the viewers how and what message they grab from this show. If you are looking for some fairy tale story in which everything gets good at the end of the episode then this show is not for you. Feed the Beast shows the reality and the challenges one has to face and the price one has to pay to dream big in a dark neighborhood. It is about optimism. Almost All the major characters had one thing in common. They all were optimistic in one way or the other! That's what life is all about. Never to lose hope and get your work done and move forward. Acting was good. Dialogues could have been better. No show is perfect but we should give this show another chance!
... View MoreI had a lot of expectation from this show but with every new episode it just continue to deteriorate. After seeing the explosion in the last episode, I am giving up. I wasted 8 hoursThe background and set-up in the first episode seem promising. But unfortunately, the story and the script has no leg. Dialogs are pretty badly written, many characters have not been developed properly, and on top of that bad acting. Writers had tried hard to make the show interesting by introducing sudden surprise twist and turns - but these twist & turns are in-coherent and seemed forced rather than part of the story. The sudden death of the detective and then the reaction of her daughter is ludicrous. The constant flash back of the death of the kid's mother is annoying at best. Also the soft light affect in the flashback to evoke emotion makes me want to puke. Overall the weakest part of this series is its story - I am not sure what it is trying to tell, where it is going, and what it is building up to.
... View MoreI was looking forward to this show. I kind of like Schwimmer. I nearly always use a DVR. So I watched the episode of their 'soft' opening a day or so after it aired. In that episode Pilar busts Dion on his not providing receipts then finding out the receipts are all fake. Dion has mostly abused Pilar since she showed up. Pilar is hot for Schwimmer. Pilar confronts Dion about the fake receipts. Dion acts like his usual criminal self. He ends up stealing kiss, she gives him a pretty respectable right handed punch to the face. And then of all things they end up screwing each other's brains out. I don't buy it. Schwimmers character may have been flaking on Pilar but that just doesn't add up to her having angry sex with Dion. While they were doing their business I called BS and erased the episode and dropped the series recording. What ever happened to reasonable plots???
... View MoreI watched the first episode, didn't care for it. Watched the 2nd episode, thinking that it might get better. Nope. I've now watched 5 episodes and I officially give up.I just don't like or care about any of these characters. Who are we supposed to be rooting for? Annoying, selfish, druggie Dion? Blah, easily-manipulated Tommy? Twit, Pilar, who lies her way into a job that she's unqualified for (just so she can be near an unappealing man who she sees weekly at her grief group anyway)? The stereotype mob guy? The woman who is apparently smart enough to be a lawyer yet dumb enough to have unprotected sex with a convicted felon/drug-addict? Even if she were on the pill, wouldn't she have insisted that the guy who was just being released from PRISON (you know, that place full of unsavory characters that is a hot-bed of male-on-male rape and HIV?!) wear a condom?!Can someone PLEASE explain to me why cute, young Pilar (played by 26 year-old Lorenza Izzo) would be practically throwing herself at not very good-looking, not very interesting, sad-sack Tommy (played by 49, FORTY-FREAKING-NINE, year-old David Schwimmer)?!! I mean, I personally have never aggressively pursued a bland, unattractive man who was old enough to be my father nor, to the best of my knowledge, have any of my female friends or relatives. Perhaps the male writers and director of this show should pay attention to the way real women think and act instead of just indulging in their middle-aged male fantasies. I just can't waste anymore time on this show.
