Family Matters is quality television that can be enjoyed by the whole family. It's funny, warm, and can be appreciated by all. This is a show where you can laugh and learn important lessons about life and not have jokes about sex, drugs, and violence. It's just so shameful that shows like this are very scarce these days. Another nice thing about this show is that it's able to be a good wholesome programming without being sappy or annoying like other shows, e.g. (Full House). The glue that really held this show together was Steve Urkel. Urkel is one of the most beloved television characters of the 1990's. Urkel is truly one of the funniest television characters in television history. Family Matters is a show that can be loved and treasured by all. However, I will admit that in the later seasons the show went downhill, becoming more like a science fiction show.

This is a fun and funny show. The comedy is not forced, the dialog is natural, and the actors have great timing, and they are FUNNY! The comedy is mixed with touching moments here and there, and while some of that might seem schmaltzy, I never thought so.The situations were unique, and all the actors had chemistry with each other. They seemed like a loving family! The scripts were written for viewers of any age to enjoy. The themes of love, respect, loyalty, honesty, are all timeless and presented in such a natural way. No one is ever mean to each other, and even the funny put-downs here and there are always lighthearted and innocent. The show isn't preachy in teaching its morals; rather it shows us by example what a truly good family can/should be.It's a lovely, warm, fun show. If you've never seen it, you've missed out.

Myra was so crazy that she put a hidden camera in steve's glasses she's crazy.I don't like that and she's rude and mean to Laura, and the time Steve and Laura had a date and she interrupted the date and she gave Laura a watch and tried to arrest her.She gave Laura the watch and accused her of stealing it.When Steve found the hidden camera in Myra's bedroom while she was in the bathroom helping her grandma,he found the remote on her dresser and pressed the button opening the to Steve's glasses camera TV he took off the glasses and she invaded his privacy, then she apoligised saying,"I'm sorry,". After that apoligy Steve said,"Yeah you are sorry ,".

This was a very enjoyable show, when the character of Steve Urkel played more of a supporting role. Once they writers started to make him the star of the show is when it went downhill. The show worked much better when the cast was more of an ensemble, where no one character took all the screen time. The story lines also became more and more outrageous, to the point the show wasn't even watchable. The best episodes were between 1989 and 1993, although there were a small number of episodes after this that were entertaining. It ran longer than it should have, because the writers ran out of things for Urkel to do and grew increasingly repetitive with each season.
