Seasons one and two worked well. Cross between detective and science fiction. Season three had a team of new writers and would be the reason for the show being cancelled. Sadly, it lost continuity. No pun intended. It became an episode to episode series with poor direction and non believable dialogue due to unempathetic script writing and totally incongruous story lines. It definitely lost its way. Shame.

It started off pretty good, but by the last 2 seasons I was only watching just to find out what happened. The lead character is VERY unlikable by the end, with little to no character growth. The writers on this show had 2 'plot shockers' that they would use over and over:1: Father reveals "I am your father", "He is my father", "You are my father" 2: Bad character turns good = instant deathIn the end, the only 2 characters I actually liked were Alec and Travis - the rest could have dropped death and I wouldn't care.I would not suggest anyone watches this, as the last 2 seasons seriously ruin the whole show. Also (MAJOR SPOILER) - at the end, when she finally gets back to her precious son (that I guarantee no one watching cares about)... he's not the one she left but she's happy? The one she left, the ones she loves, is still growing up motherless in a corporate future... but she's happy? Yeah, that totally makes sense.Basically, the whole point of the show is that she goes back to stop the bad future from happening... but she didn't. She just got sent to a better future, leaving everyone she loved in the dust. The bad future never got changed, it still happened - just in a different timeline to what she ends up in. I feel weird giving this 5 stars, but I did enjoy it at first... in the end it's just 'meh' and I'll probably forget about this show by the end of today.

I am really enjoying this show. The only downside is some of the ideology presented in season two. I haven't watched season three yet. One cannot compare the actions of Hitler which involved genocide and ethnic cleansing, to killing a prison full of mind controlled slaves who have had their freedom to think taken away from them by the corporations and leaders of society. There is no racial discrimination in this mass slaughter, only discrimination against those who are unable to repay their debts or one's ability to work and the desire that everyone should work to maintain society and pay their debts. The two simply do not compare. Obviously homelessness would no long be a problem in the future if everyone who could not pay their debts would end up in prison mind controlled, working as a slave to the system. What happens to mental health issues are they simply eradicated using a mind control chip? Considering that a large percentage of homeless people have mental health problems this is a fair question. What happens to people who have physical, cognitive disabilities? Like I said I am really enjoying watching the show, it is great science-fiction. I have just deconstructed the story over one issue and analyzed some of the social factors that would be occurring in society behind the scenes. Great to watch, gets you thinking. Thank you.

It really did, jumped the shark i mean, somewhere along season three. Most probably towards the seasons end. It gives me the impression that they didn't think a second season would ascend from that enjoyable first one. Only it did. And a third one came after it too. I say this because it is almost evident that by the third season they were improvising so that everything ended up kind of almost making sense, but quite not really. They managed to needlessly over complicate the plot to create more interest i guess, but exactly the opposite occurred. We started loosing our interest.A shame. It was a very promising sci-fi show
