After watching Caprica this is quite a letdown. It seemed that half the movie was CGI, the other half top-gun-ish a boy and his machine.Oh yeah, boys and girls shower together! Every adolescent boys' wet dream. Character development? Uh not really. If I recall correctly Uncle Scrooge comics of the 1950's had more of such. But not to be a total loss, the CGI was rather good.

Graphics are decent, best so far. The movie... to say it was bad would be giving it too much credit. Everything about this movie was predictable, from start to finish. The only real surprise is that it made it out of production and was put out for audiences to suffer through. The original series set the bar very high, unfortunately, when the series was brought back, none of what made it interesting and worth watching was brought back with it. They have taken a very good science fiction series and turned it into a romantic drama set in space. Harlequin could come up with a lot better than this. With a little luck they will let the show die in peace, instead of the continual flogging of a dead horse.

I can't understand why some great SF series are dropped. Case in point, this series and Firefly.Holding out hope, it is reconsidered. I was able to get into the characters immediately, and it's got GREAT special effects. What can I say about it, fast pasted, hooks you in, good plot and moody atmosphere just like the last series. There are so many story lines where this first pilot can take us, so many unanswered questions. Whether in a movie format or an ongoing series, with a little publicity it can take off. Everyone loves binge watching, Battlestar would be great to binge watch. SF is obviously back in popularity, ask Clooney or Bullock.More please.

This film is a pilot for a series that was never picked up and, if judged solely on the visuals, then that's a good thing for all people who hate fake lens flares - and that's 99% of the Earth's population. The director of the film is SO obsessed with lens flare effects that he forgot all about having a sensible plot, decent acting, original characters or otherwise decent visuals. Every single light source in this film creates excessive lens flare, so much so that are moments where there is nothing on screen EXCEPT lens flare. I know this is all JJ Abrams fault with his Star Trek reboot but that doesn't mean that anybody else had to copy his sloppy technique. With so much flare obscuring the on screen image, you're reduced to having an aural rather than a visual experience and the content of the film just isn't up to making up for a lack of visuals. If this film were remade without the added lens flare effects then the money saved would be enough to hire a decent script writer, a decent director and some proper actors. THEN you might have a pilot film worth a series.
