I think my review covers whatever this show is trying to be.Can't think of a more tired attempt at a new Seinfeld "nothing" style of show than this one.

As and Atlanta native I fell in love with the show's ability to depict Atlanta's youth and hip-hop culture with slang words like "Fye" "Fire" and "Lit" as well as the show's ability to comment on social issues in the city with a unique sense of humor.

This show is extremely funny but not for everyone. It doesn't just tackle hip hop culture it also makes fun of many modern day sociopolitical issues. I would recommend for people who are open minded.

It started off brilliantly and I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes though they are a little short for my liking. The stories don't really get fleshed out enough in thirty minutes can sometimes be a little thin, but I suspect there are parameters the producers have to work with and it's not to bad. Subsequent episodes really are diminishing in appeal and the brilliant creativity is gradually being replaced with a quirky framework that simply doesn't work as well. I think the initial premise for the show was very good but now that all the preconceived material has been used up, the producers are scratching around for ideas. Overall the production quality is quite good, but the story is beginning to get a little threadbare. There are some very competent actors here and do well with the script which for the most part is OK. Direction is great but again the writing needs attention. One of the main problems with the series, particularly after you've recovered from the high of the first few episodes is there is very little character or story development. Your then presented with a very static story which isn't quite as engaging and worse, sort of lets you down badly from the roller-coaster ride you were having. Its definitely not your typical 'black' sitcom/comedy/drama (I'm not really sure what category this falls under) but there is certainly a lot of cursing, swearing and black American slang to the point where I need subtitles to follow the dialogue properly, which is saying something. There is a lot of mumbling groaning and uttering going on and unless your fluent in such feature-rich vernacular, you will at the very least need the sound turned up so you can pick it all out.Eight episodes in and I think I've had my fill, but I would still advise seeing it as it is entertaining and may suit your tastes, though it just as likely may not. This is a weird one as I'm not entirely sure who its prime audience is. Clearly it has appeal for the black American community but in some ways it seems to have an different target in mind additionally. Can't quite make it out. Anyway at the very least it deserves a shot, so give it one and make up your own mind as this one is a little difficult to finger.I liked it but have had enough to move on to something else without missing what I've left behind here.
